Engine 11 . Engine 11 is staffed by four firefighters and protects many brush areas on the east side of Castle Beach. . The bumper mounted monitor is powered by the Waterous PTO pump and allows the crew to attack the fire right away. The powerful Waterous two-stage 2250 gpm pump provides plenty of water when necessary. Rear shows the hose bed as well as the internal ladder storage. Engine 11 is an ALS-certified rig and can begin to treat patients prior to the arrival of a rescue ambulance. Engine 11 previously served as Engine 208 before transitioning to Engine 11 in late 2018. Engine 11 is ready for service! Engine 10 (left), Engine 210 (middle), and Engine 11 (right) are the only three all wheel drive engine companies in the fleet. All three rigs also have bumper mounted monitors for rapid extinguishment of a fire. Castle Beach Fire Department Engine 11 was formed in late 2018 to address the needs of an additional station in the eastern part of Castle Beach where vegetation and brush areas could ignite. Station 11 is now home to Engine 11, Wildland 11, and Fast Response 11. Engine 11 was purchased used from the local Pierce dealer back in 2016 and was originally designated as Engine 208 before transitioning to Engine 11. The apparatus is one of three frontline engines with All-Wheel-Drive capabilities and a raised suspension. A unique feature of this rig is the bumper mounted Akron monitor, which is useful for fighting brush fires. Since Station 11s response area is predominately hilly areas with plenty of vegetation, this apparatus gives homeowners a vote of confidence to prevent brush fires from ravaging their homes.
