Star Trek Starships 2 . I've made significant advancements on the existing models of starships, and have made new ones. . First off, I capped off the Constitution Class's warp nacelles to lack the annoying studs on the end and redesigned the saucer section to make it smoother. Basically, I added SNOT techniques to it. I also remade the Kelvin-type, (Or Einstein Class, if you prefer Beta canon,) but attaching the secondary hull was quite difficult since this version's saucer section doesn't have studs where the secondary hull attaches. The Crossfield-Class, as seen on the somewhat controversial (ya' think?) series Star Trek: Discovery. It's not stated if it comes standard or was part of the class's refit, but a configuration exists that adds an experimental 'spore drive' to the ship to complement its warp drive. Making the saucer section was somewhat difficult due to its different shape, but making the body was also a hassle as beta canon claims a length of 750m(!) whilst it appears to be smaller on-screen. I used a shot where the Discovery rendezvouses with the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701), a Constitution-Class vessel, as a reference for scale instead. The Oberth-Class. From what I could find, its official length is about 110 metres according to Beta canon...more reasonable than the Crossfield-class, but TINY. For reference, the USS Defiant is longer than this tiny thing! As such, I made the Oberth Class Science Vessel's model to be slightly smaller than the Defiant's. (See below.) From what little we see of this, it's suggested that the Oberth may have been the backbone of the Federation, testing systems for other starships and carrying out various scientific explorations. Jean-Luc Picard formerly served on an Oberth Class, the USS Pegasus. The USS Grissom, used to transport Saavik and David Marcus to the Genesis Planet, was an Oberth Class. Another iconic starship class, the D7. I recently acquired an AMT model of a Klingon Battlecruiser which I assembled, which may actually be a K't'inga-Class, but either way, in celebration of getting that model, I did up this little number. It actually predates the other starship models on this page. The D7-Class and K't'inga-Class have both had long, illustrious, and indeed honorable services over the centuries, although they tended to become less effectual as time went on and were often pressed into being multipurpose ships despite not being meant for this, the D7 especially. The D7-Class is the most iconic Klingon vessel, alongside the ubiquitous Bird of Prey. Intimidating and powerful, the D7 formed the backbone of the Klingon fleet for many years. The infamous, multi-purpose, planet-landing, variable-geometry-nacelle Intrepid Class Science Vessel. The model includes the ability to tilt the nacelles, as seen with the USS Voyager and all Intrepid-Class Starships after it. The fact that I'm better at building small is pretty clearly shown here as the Intrepid's distinctive spade-shaped saucer section wasn't actually that much of a problem for me to make. The NX-Class. Underpowered by the standards of the time, but an extremely historic ship and an example of a ship designated Enterprise having an illustrious service: 'twas this ship that secured decisive victories in the Temporal Cold War, namely the destruction of the Delphic Expanse Spheres. The USS Enterprise (NX-01) was one of the first Earth-designed starships to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, and to boldly go where no humans had gone before. The Defiant-Class, stated to be the first pure warships in the Federation. Originally created the fight the Borg and with extreme deficiencies, it was mothballed but later brought back to fight The Dominion, with the flaws in it being ironed out shortly after. Well known for being a tough little ship, it was essentially a fully functioning starship that could be used as an attack craft. I originally made a second model of this ship that ended up being too small; this model is in the instructions file.
