Revisiting Some Old LEGO Universe Racecars . A while ago, I uploaded some renders I'd made of old LEGO Universe chassis racecars to the Gallery. Skilltwiner asked if I had any more, so I decided to go through my old models folder and dig up whatever I could find. . (Main photo) This is the Laterizio GTO, one of my favorite LU chassis racecars. I named it after the Italian word for Brick, because I think it came out looking kind of like an Italian racecar. This is my Sting Raycer. It's based on the 1963 Corvette Stingray. For a long time, it was my character's personal racecar, and, after tweaking the trunk module, I've decided it's time for Brick to start using this car as his personal ride again. Time to pull it out from under the tarp. I call this car 1Up. It is the result of some puttering around I did in LDD many years ago. It was based on the default color scheme LDD gives you, red bricks and black paint tool. I think it's the only LU racer I've built with an 8-wide bumper. Looks kind of like an f1 car now that I look at it. Here's all the cars in the .lxf, clearly labeled. 1. Porsche 911 This was another attempt at building a real car on the LEGO Universe chassis. It's far too bulky for my liking. 2. Barbossa's Racecar I built this racecar for Barbossa9000 on the Gallery. He specified the color scheme (green and black) and I got creative freedom over the rest of the car. I decided to go for a hard-edged, angular look, and was careful to avoid any curved bricks. 3. 1Up 4. Quicksilver Racer This is an LU chassis car based on the old Drome Racers theme. It's one of my favorites, though the engine does stick up a little too high in my opinion. 5. Paintball Racer This is an Assembly faction themed one, and Brick used this as his personal racecar for a while. 6. Max's Racecar I built this for Max5383 on the Gallery. I built it in his building colors, black and earth red. I tried to give it a TRON: Legacy inspired look since we were both fans of that show. 7. Laterizio GTO 8. Sting Raycer 9. Lowered Chassis This is something I did much later, just sort of fiddling around. The minifigure always sits so high in the chassis that it's hard to make really low slung cars without the minifigure sitting way too high. this was an attempt to fix this, and it's compatible with most (but not all) of the cars here. Thanks for reading! I will probably be posting this on the Gallery under my Mistermursten account, and possibly on Brick Lab. --End of Line
