1:1 Toa Onua . These two bonkles are not identical. . This was an idea I had a few months ago that I just had to build. I was building for a few days straight and I was so inspired I had issues sleeping and paying attention in classes and raids. It was built 90% in 3-4 days, then slowly reworked and perfected (or at least built up to my standard; I could work a bit harder on this and bring it closer to the original set, but it was a bit out of my effort range) over about a week or two. After that it waited for about 3 months for me to get around to building the original Toa Onua to have a side-by-side photo (Shoutout to my non-FOL ninja mrga friend for lending the second Pakari mask and a replacement for a broken arm). This was very much the kind of building I enjoy the most (minus fragility, which comes naturally and is hardly avoidable). Fiddling with complicated compact shapes, many neck brackets... While recreating a pre-existing shape or concept is not my thing, but as I have a soft spot for G1 bonkles, I made an exception. This build was recreated more piece by piece than as a whole, so checking out the Bricksafe folder helps with maximum appreciation of the MOC's complexity.
