Federation Starship USS Excelsior, NCC - 2000 from Star Trek VI . Finally, here she is: My version of the Excelsior Class Heavy Cruiser from Star Trek ---> It has taken me quite a long time designing her, waiting for all the parts to arrive, building her for real, finding the time to photograph her and finally posting her on the pages. But, it was all well worth it! I donīt want to sound snobbish, but Iīm really proud of how this baby turned out in the end. I dare to say that this is one of my best creations so far! Enjoy! . The famous Star Trek ship "Excelsior". Original: length: 467m; First commissioned in 2284 Model: length: 97 cm ; height: 20 cm ; width: 34,5 cm ; approx. 4195 parts The Excelsior NX-2000 was originally equipped with an experimental transwarp drive. A large number of Excelsior-class starships was built over a period of more than 60 years. Excelsior-class ships incorporate two shuttlebays in the engineering hull stern and keel. The Excelsior design is still in use as of the year 2376. The yellow tiles and slopes on the saucerīs rim depict the RCS (maneuvering) thrusters. Rear shuttle bay... ...and the two rear torpedo launchers. Approaching the engineering hullīs shuttle bay. Smooth ceiling inside the engineering hull. Impulse engines A little greebling above the impulse engines. The two dark grey round 1x1 plates are refered to as impulse deflection crystals. What ever their exact purpose is! The bridge, note the ten type VIII phaser cannons around it. Starboard saucer docking port with RCS thruster on its left (yellow tile). Starboard engineering hull, with Federation emblem, torpedo launcher (black opening), docking port (little grey ring) and lots of windows. Smooth ceiling above the deflector dish. The white stripe on the very bottom is not a decal. It is just a stripe of paper stuck under the white 1x2 tile and the nose of the blue slopes. Nacelle details: top - rear end with fins and RCS thruster (yellow tile) middle - trans blue tiles and 1x1 slopes again, and again, and again,... bottom - front end Transwarp? And there she is, with her stand, on her shelf inside my living room. If you want to see another great Excelsior check out M Masakiīs Excelsior ! A very fine detailed and edited LDD version.
