Why?
F2 Hummingbird . . Due to the high frequency and intensity of air combat during the War for Africa, the African Alliance saw it necessary to update their outdated and under performing fighter aircraft. While the F1 Psaraetós will still be widely used, the F2 was designed as a small, cheap, reliable, and maneuverable aircraft. A normal payload for the F2 is 4 UFE compatible air-to-air missiles and 2 50 cal. machine guns (about 5,000 rounds). With the small payload, F2 pilots are trained to make better use of their machine guns, that were custom made to include a new aiming system. The first pilots to use this new system will be veterans of the F1, with an expedited training program. 60 F2's are expected to enter service within the month, and will be available to all IIS member nations (as they are being built under IIS agreements).
