M.A.N.T.I.S.
Built during the last legs of the Clone Wars and quickly overshadowed by the AT-AT
About this creation
Built: August, 2005

The M.A.N.T.I.S. began its life as a prototype weapon of war designed by Republic scientists nearing the end of the Clone Wars. It was meant to supplement the AT-TE as a much faster, more maneuvarable walker, and as such was more lightly armed and armored.

When the Republic fell and the Empire rose, the M.A.N.T.I.S. had not yet been put into mass production, and the few that were in service became forgotten when the faster AT-ST and the larger AT-AT became the Empire's vehicles of choice for ground assaults.

It is rumored that a small number of these unique walkers fell into the hands of mercenaries and pirates, though this has never been confirmed.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

I built the M.A.N.T.I.S. to compete in an alternative AT-AT contest on FBTB.net. The only stipulation was, that only parts from Star Wars LEGO sets could be used. My entry is made of the better part of one AT-AT, and a few parts from a second.

All comments, questions and suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

This is an absolutely awesome awesome awesome build!!! Unfortunately, I'm not creative at all, I need instructions. Is it possible that you have instructions for this? I'd love to build it to add to my collection. Would they cost money? I'm happy to pay :)

That's surely the greatest way to build a walker with the AT-AT's bricks. Amazing, simply amazing!

I love it reminds me of one of though huge bugs from the movie Starship Troopers. And best of all the over-all design is a total original.
