Fabercraft BS11 "Mean Piggy"
A magnetically-driven plasma-flechette thrower. In effect, a double-barreled sawed-off for T.U. Mecha
About this creation
This is not a nice weapon. If you seek precise surgical strikes, move along. The "Mean Piggy" - so-called for its snout-like sppearance - is a rail-gun which fires pineapple-shaped slugs composed of slag flechettes wrapped around barely-stable isotopic material. In flight a high-explosive core detonates, pushing the isotopic cocktail over the point of stability. One projectile blooms into an expanding ball of plasma peppered with mostly-molten flechettes.

This reaction can be adjusted on-the-fly by the pilot. It can burst straight from the muzzle, creating a shotgun-like effect with tremendous close-range stopping power. Alternately, the reaction can bedelayed to bring this same force to more distant targets. The rounds posess some armor-piercing capability. For example, a round can be timed to burst after piercing a wall. this is especially handy in clearing nests of RPG snipers in urban combat situations.

Like the RCNG27, an auto-loading clip-rack with three clips can be mounted on a hard-point to extend a unit's combat effectiveness. Clips contain 300 rounds. the BS11 has a maximum firing rate of 70 rounds per minute - 35 from each barrel. This rate drops when using the muzzle-burst, as overheating becomes a concern.

This is a weight-class 2 weapon.
