Star Trek TOS Concept Shuttle IRL
A curved, sleek ship made of bricks? Sure, why not.
About this creation

A clamshell hatch provides crew entry.

The entire cabin roof is removable to access the interior, which seats 7 like the Class F shuttle.

The engine compartment is much larger, providing greater delta-V and better atmospheric handling than craft of similar size.

The engine is not accessible from the interior, but there is an exterior hatch for maintenance.

Unlike the class F shuttle there is no bathroom, but a much larger warp core and impulse manifold.

I revised the dimensions several times to fit onto the TOS Enterprise landing pad.

I chose this livery based on the "DaVinci" shuttle that appeared in the remastered episode "The Menagerie".

Other versions of this craft rendered in CGI (as well as the new Eaglemoss version) greatly overestimate its size, relative to these original sketches by Matt Jeffries.

What a curved landing gear fairing! It reminds me non-retractable, but faired landing gears of early 1930s airplanes. You rendered it perfectly. In the strong solar wind at Mercury-based sunbath-cruises, it really means grams and grams of fuel having low drag...
