"Sunburst" - Striker-Class Fighter
AH! My eyes!...
About this creation
Yellow, folks!
Yeah, this is another spaceship. I'm kind of in a phase right now, don't mind me ;)
There are probably more images than this creation warrants, but I couldn't decide which ones I'd take out so I included all of them ;)

Let me give you a brief tour of the Sunburst, a small, but well-armed fighter that has a pretty impressive level of agility. Perfect for those quick in-and-out jobs that you often come across in a universe of derring-do.

It really gets its name from the positioning of the rear fins and directional engines. The central engine packs a wallop from an acceleration standpoint, but those beauties on the fin ends make for a ridiculously small turning radius.

Not only does that array of blue panels look awesome head-on, but it also represents a top-of-the-line deflector shield and radar-jamming equipment. No one's going to see this guy coming, but even if they could, good luck getting through that shield.

The profile is sleek, to say the least. Makes it super hard to hit.

The five rapid-fire laser cannons, double twins and a single frontal cannon that can aim at targets independent of the others. Sure, that includes a level of multi-tasking for the pivot/gunner, but it's mostly run by AI anyway, so big deal.

Okay, I'll admit it, on the ground with the landing gear engaged, it does look a bit like a caterpillar. I assure you though, this is no caterpillar (once it gets off the ground and folds the landing gear up, it's nothing to joke about).

Eh, already seen this. Moving on...

Ditto.

The cockpit is a newer design that allows for a more vertical position for the pilot. Definitely makes for a more comfortable ride based on how much that guy's smiling.

Or maybe he's smiling because this thing doesn't require a helmet to drive. That little compartment above his head automatically initiates life-saving measures upon loss of oxygen or in case of emergency ejection. The controls fold out to make exiting a bit easier (though it's still a bit tight).

Yeah, he's pretty proud of this thing. Though my guess is that he's just showing off his designer limited edition garb and is being annoying. Whatever, I won't judge.

That's a snazzy got-to-have-it fighter if I've ever seen one.

And that's it, friends. Please stay tuned for my next creation, probably an entry for Round 2 of the TEPBC contest. Brick on...

God bless,
~Promar~

Quoting Silverwing 05 By the way, I was meaning to ask you: Do you have any tips on building larger-scale spacecraft? I'm not talking anything like a SHIP, but the next thing on my bucket list after a recolored version of an SW ship is a light corvette, and it's going to be pretty big...
Hey Silverwing! Thanks for stopping by and providing some feedback here (totally agree about the weapons, so I'll work to do better next time). As for larger spacecraft, not sure if I can be much help there. I usually get too impatient to put the effort required to really make anything super cool. Typically, I start with a couple of larger pieces and try to come up with a unique way to configure them (as I did with the large white pieces on this creation or the long, gray slopes on my light freighter). From there, I'll decide whether it's minifig scale or micro scale and then develop a cockpit that works accordingly. Using three primary colors aids in cohesiveness, but it's certainly not required. Hopefully that's a bit helpful, but let me know if you have more questions. Thanks again, ~Promar~

Stunning as always! I've wanted to make a starfighter with a similar form for a while now, but irregular shapes are not my forte. I'm loving the use of that older cockpit module, and the color blocking with the white in the bow and black in the stern is spectacular. My one gripe is that the weapons systems could use a bit of work, but that's more a personal thing for me. Keep up the great work!
