Many cults and religions have occured and vanished throughout the ages.
One of the darkest ones was the so-called "Narco-Satanist", which was destroyed exactly 30 years ago.
About this creation
Santaria is a religion which consists of witchcraft, invoking spirits and demons and casting spells as well as conducting ritual sacrifices.
It evolved as an adaption of Christian motives by enslaved African slaves in western colonies who integrated them in their ancient African religous believes as those were banned by colonial slave masters.
Throughout the ages Santaria spread in former colonies around the Carribean, Latin America and the Southern USA.
During this time, a split of Santaria evolved - Palo Maombe.
This dark version of Santaria doesn't follow the commandments of Christianity and allows its priests to do black magic for good as well as sinister purposes.
In the 1980s, a young and handsome man who had grown up with Santaria and Palo Maombe with his mom being a witch, a young Santaria shaman in training, who had been a failure in ordinary life, became a rich and powerful man in Miami and finally Mexico when he started to earn his living by offering Palo Maombo rituals and spells for hire...
This former construction site worker and now shaman was named Adolfo de Jesús Constanzo.
He proselytized a large network of clients from artists to politicians, corrupt policemen to Narco drug cartel gangsters.
Especially Mexican drug cartells favored Palo Maombe for reasons of safety and supernatural protection for their dangerous criminal work, so Adolfo could widen his power base from being a shaman to becoming a drug baron.
He achieved this by creating a cult consisting of influental Narcos, a corrupt policeman and young followers that feared, loved and obeyed him.
His cult partly took power over a troubled cartel family and conducted drug trafficking as well as Narco murders.
A member of one of those cartel families - Sara Aldrete became his girlfriend although Adolfo was bisexual and her family didn't like him over this.
When his cult became increasingly well renowned and powerful, Sara's and Adolfo's relationship got a religious dimension when he made her his high priestess of the sect.
However his mystical cult crossed a threshold when they started to sacrifice humans for their black magic protection spells from which they expected superpowers like being bulletproof or invisible.
His cult eventually made a grave mistake by abducting and sacrificing an American student named Mark Kilroy.
The FBI as well as the American and Mexican police searched for Kilroy for weeks.
When one of his disciples was caught by police for a petty crime he reacted strangely telling them that they couldn't see him and his cult.
The police further interviewed him and his information led authorities to other cult disciples and finally they were led to a shack near the Mexican town of Matamoros where the sacrifices and murders occured.
Dozends of gruesomely mutilated bodies were found in graves around the shack and Mexican authorities started a nationwide manhunt for Constanzo and his closest disciples.
When the grizzly news made it into TV news broadcasts, Adolfo and few of his disciples fled to Mexico City to hide.
When he saw the burning of his shack and his nganga - the cult's sacrificial metal cauldron, his most important possession - on TV, Adolfo freaked out and in a rage he threw furnishings out his hideouts window.
This draw the attention of a Mexican police patrol and the cops were met with gunfire from Adolfo Constanzo's uzi.
Police reinforcements were called in and a 45 minute massive gunfight battle rocked the street in front of the appartment where Adolfo, his girlfriend and high priestess Sara Aldrete, his homosexual lovers Omar and Martín Quintana Rodriguez as well as his hitman and fanatic cult follower Alvaro de Leon Valdez resided.
Realizing he was about to be caught, Adolfo ordered Alvare to shot him together with his lover Martín.
This final deaths ended the Matamoros human sacrifice cult murder series and made it an internationally infamous real life Mexican horror story....
