2000 Millennium Falcon Upgrade
Today I decided to set a challenge for myself on my 51st birthday. I wanted to see if I could take a 2000 release date edition of the Millennium Falcon and upgrade it into something better. I set 2 restrictions on this build. One, No changing the original LEGO design by complete disassembly. Two.only use parts I had on hand in my inventory, no Bricklink or Pick-a-Brick. I hope that I was successful and that you the LEGO community get as much enjoyment seeing this MOC/MOD upgrade as I had building it. Like and comment both positive and negative, have a great day and keep on Brickin. Jimmie
About this creation
This is a photo of the instruction manual for the 2000 release of the STAR WARS MILLENNIUM FALCON. I am including this as a reference as to how extensive this set upgrade was using only parts currently in my LEGO inventory. No new parts were ordered from Bricklink for this build.

A few different views of the ship.

Some detail shots.

The interior of the ship Was done in LBG elements, I would have prefered DBG. I just did not have enough on hand to compete the interior to the level that I wanted without resorting to Bricklink'

Views of Han's favorite overbore Dennia Quad Cannon's

The positioning and spacing of the rear round vents is not perfect, but given the limitations of the upper hull design' I think it is a vast improvement.

Of course this is an Episode IV build.

Rear of the ship.

I also had to get rid of a lot of blue parts in this build. Some I swapped out, others I hid with layering techniques.

I wanted to integrate the old grey and LBG & DBG into a reasonably even color scheme.

There were Many challenges to upgrading this Falcon. The four piece upper hull and LEGO's limited color pallet to name a couple.

Quoting Sven ;o) And I'm only 37 XD Such a young guy LOL. First, belated Happy Birthday again my brother. So glad that we could surprise you yesterday via Skype. Too bad that we did not have more time but so closely before our wedding time is quite rare. You did again such a great job on this MF (which is quite a old unique one). Really like that youre able to add much more detail to a set. Take care my brother and have a wonderful safe weekend (the same for Jill and Gary). Sending you much much love, greets and hugs. S&J ;)
Very much appreciated my brother. I knew how busy you would be this close to yours and Julia's big day. Jill, Gary and I wish you and Julia all the love and best wishes for a long' safe and happy life together. You two deserve it and each other. You both are greatly missed in NC. P.S. Did you see the comment I left for your E69 WIP on EB?

Quoting Cameron Wilson Really nice work, It's chunky but in a good way! Also, happy birthday!
Thanks Cameron, its tough getting older but building LEGO MOC's helps keep the mind sharp and the creative juices flowing. Appreciate the like and kind words. The chunkiness is apart of the original design and can't be corrected without a total rebuild. Have a great day and keep on brickin.

Quoting Lego Fire Museum Inc. I like the studless look. I always have a hard time with studs showing no matter the size or scale of the model. You have made a much cleaner look Falcon that really looks like it could make the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs.
Thanks for the like and great comment LFM. Yes any LEGO model I do has to be studless. Have a great day and keep on brickin my friend.
