Home of illegal techniques! ;)
About this creation

Hello guys! Remember me? Iíve woken up from my half year hibernation just to vanish for another eternity... Just kidding ;) How are you doing? Iíve been building constantly for the last few months to give you guys a look at my newest build. Nowadays my creations take a lot of time to make since Iíve started to pay a lot more attention to small details. I want to improve with every build I make and to make every new creation the best one yet. This makes building harder and I might scrap my ideas a lot more easily. Itís kinda like a war of creativity inside my head.

Last October I started building a giant dreadnought as a final project in my arts class. I also wanted to build something big for my local Lego convention next fall. It was almost done last Christmas but I never got around to finishing it. I had been building it for about 80 hours before destroying it. At that point I was really full of bricking and wanted to take a small break from Lego. School and bricking donít really fit together.

This build was a path back to Lego. I was really bored during my week-long spring vacation and decided to touch bricks again. Ideas started coming to my head and I enjoyed the building process a lot. I started this MOC by building the German tank (Panzerwagen III for all you history geeks) and continued by building the landscape around the weathered brick house. It was really refreshing since I havenít been landscaping for a long time. I ordered some olive green and sand green parts to widen my color palette and used a lot of my red and dark red bricks to build the brick wall design. The technique is actually illegal and is built by putting tiles and plates vertically between studs of a bigger plate. The end result is pleasing but also very part-costly. I wouldnít recommend the techinque for bigger buildings because some of the bricks can be quite flimsy.

When I first joined MOCpages I came across this roleplay group called Lands of Mythron. Lately Iíve been reading the LOM Wiki page and thinking about joining the group. I admire the amount of people LOM has brought together and the consistent story behind all that. Sadly, the group doesnít seem to be active anymore and I donít think it will come back any time soon. Is there any way to bring Lands of Mythron back? Iíd love to see us MOCpagers unite and do something as a community. Iíve started to see some signs of inactivity across the whole page. A nice big collaboration of some sort would bring people together and maybe even get some attention from the other Lego-related sites.

Iíve been considering joining Flickr to expand my understanding of different building techniques and meet different parts of the community. It wonít mean that Iíll leave the pages, I will just post my creations in two places instead of one. If you have any tips for a Flickr newbie please write them in the comments.

Also if you guys have any suggestions on what to build next Iíd love to hear them!

God bless, AxuBuilder

Gorgeous work here Axu! Glad that you emerged from hiding to present this to us :D Your attention to detail is beautifully displayed in this build, the minute details in the brick design technique (illegal or not, I highly approve of the end result) and the landscaping are both exquisite. I love how you've created a cohesive build while also employing a variety of colors, it's an especially nice touch how the brick contrasts with the rest of the scene so as to emphasize its design. As for LOM, I was never a part of it and could never dedicate enough of my time to make it worthwhile. As is the case in almost every aspect pertaining to Lego. However, I'm going to try and do this contest (http://www.moc-pages.com/group.php/26749) to challenge me to brick more this next month. Well done and God bless! ~Promar~

Great job! If you're looking for something to replace LOM and want to try your hand at something different, join The Insurgency. http://www.moc-pages.com/group.php/23546 Basically LOM's Sci-Fi cousin! --Blast--

Quoting Craniac 809 Good to see you're building again, AxuBuilder! This is a fantastic MOC, and as a history geek myself I can really appreciate the details that you included. The tank is built very well, and the partially destroyed building also looks great. I've been upgrading my existing war MOCs (you may remember some from the old Gallery), and also building more. Now I just have to find time to post them. xD
Thanks! Of course I remember your builds from the gallery! I really miss those times when posting creations online was a lot more simple... Anyway, canít wait to see those new creations of yours!

This is a wonderful MOC with great details. The details makes the MOC stand out. I love it to see details as the inner and outer wall. That makes it more than a MOC, a small real life. At the moment I'm inactive and can't push myself to create. Kind of dark time.....
