My first attempt at a female Bionicle. I know, the name's pretty bad, but it'll work for now. EDIT: Oops, I just realized that Luminara is the name of a Star Wars character :P I'll work on changing that.
About this creation
Name: Luminara (pronounced Loom-in-ar-a)
Gender: Female
Species: Av-Matoran
Race: Toa
Home Island: Vaha Nui (placeholder name)
Element: Light
Kanohi: Avohkii, mask of light (formerly; stolen by Notharus); Volitak, great mask of stealth
Affiliation: Toa Vaha (deputy leader)
Backstory: Luminara was once a simple villager from the southern region of her home island, Vaha Nui. That is, until Notharus and his Dark Hunters attack her village. The village's protector was slain by Notharus, as an example of what would happen to the rest of the village should they stand up to the Dark Hunters, but that didn't stop Luminara (a Matoran, at the time) and a band of fellow villagers from fighting back. Unfortunately, the band of warriors was quickly defeated by Notharus and, as a prize, he took Luminara's Kanohi Avohkii. Somehow, Luminara managed to escape to the northern region of the island, where Voltstorm and De'espe were planning their next move against the invading Dark Hunters...

On to the build! I know I said I was going to post Loki's might not-so micro, but I decided to post this first.

Here's a basic front view. Nuva armor... yay... :P I might work on the hip armor later, but I'm still deciding if it works well or not.

Yeah, I'll just admit right now that her back turned out pretty terrible, but I'll work on that for V2.

Here's your average dramatic pose. I actually like how this picture turned out.

Now for a size comparison between Luminara and, your friend and mine, Skrall!

And finally a size comparison with Voltstorm, my self-MOC. I really like the contrast between Luminara's bright-colored armor and smooth textures and Voltstorm's darker colors and rough textures.

Update!

I've done a few updates to her design, including: Adding a heartlight, changing her feet (I think that the Hero Factory feet work rather well), and updating her back armor. Speaking of which...

Here's the updated back armor! I think that this looks much better, though it might need a little work still...

Thanks for viewing! Feel free to leave your comments, critiques, and gripes about the Nuva armor :P

Bonus Pic!

Here's a picture of Voltstorm using a Rahkshi of heat-vision as a blaster (it's kind of an inside joke).

Quoting Ivan Wanderer of the wasteland The chest isn't as bad as I thought it would be! Also, I like the name :D
Thanks!

Quoting Juppiter Augustus Furnus (JimiFurno) I honestly don't mind the Nuva Armor, especially if it's not silver. In addition to what Runk said, try to bring the shoulders closer to each other, thicken the waist a touch (which will also help the hips) and find some way to make the head look more feminine. (Some hair if you could manage would work, or perhaps a different mask?) Also the feet don't quite match the texture of the rest of the MOC. (This is minor but still worth noting since you seem to consider texture.)
Thanks! I'll consider all of that for V2. I was planning on adding hair, but I couldn't think of any good ways to attach it (besides with a rubber band, but even that didn't look quite right).

Quoting Runkbolt 12 Looking good. I would try thinning the hips by bringing the legs closer together. Other than that and some back armour, this looks really good!
Thanks! That's what I was planning on, but I'll need to figure out a new torso design first, which may also help with adding armor to the back.

Quoting Wolf Pack Looks good! All the CCBS shells look good, but they leave the back of the arms and legs exposed. If you could cover that up, it would help. Besides that, good work! The weapon looks cool.
Thanks! Yeah, armoring the back of the arms and legs will be some of the main things I focus on for V2.
