Here is my another Gobot MOC. His alternate mode is a 1980ís Toyota Hilux. I hope you will like it.
About this creation
According to the wiki information, this offroad vehicle is a Toyota Hilux. This is a large SUV with big wheels and high ground clearance. The model is pretty sure based on the model back to the 80's. I really like this flat and clean hood in car mode.
The vehicle mode is very solid. There are several taps to connect the robot arms and legs together with his body.

There are kind of illusion of the shock absorber behind the wheels.
This little foot step on each side is an additional detail I added to this MOC, in which the original toy design does not included.
The twins exhaust pipe is another additional detail.
At the final stage of the building process, I decided to add this opening roof function as a gimmick so I can easily put the mini-figure into the cab. I realised that opening side door is not applicable in this MOC due to the limitations.
Size comparison with my Transformer Trailbreaker. I think I should rebuild him since there are more new pieces and Mixel joints available.
Let's get him to transform!
The transformation process is quite similar to my Transformer Swerve, but the building techniques are completely different.
This rear section will form the robot's leg.
I always like to make my creation as true to the original as possible. Although the transformation is most likely the same, but I have made some minor adjustment to make the robot form more close to the human body proportion. For example, the arm length should be slightly longer than the torso length. In order to this, I have to shorten his body for a little bit.
Shorten the waist section for both sides.
I applied the Mixel ball joint on his chest. It provides 2 functions. Firstly, it offer the function to turn the plate/tile upside down so the top of the tile can face to the front. Secondly, the opening function allows me to access to the hinges to put the arms section out more easily.
Finally, disconnect the front bumper and re-connect it to his chest just like the original design.
Transformation is done!
I managed to convert the forearm unit upside down as well so that the tile can face to the front when in robot mode, without sacrificing the flexibility. Unfortunately, I could not use the Mixel ball joint to do the elbow because it only available in gray colour, not red. In this way, it still offer the ability to do bicep shuffle for half way.
What I like the most is his blocky leg and the big foot with ball joint ankle.
I also change the brick upside down on his thigh section without sacrificing stability and flexibility. Wherever we begin to alter the unit upside down, we need to have an ending to turn it back to the normal position so the front and the back units are both consistent (parallel in horizontal level). I will discuss it a little bit more at the end.
Here is a little tutorial to show the examples of changing the tile/plate upside down in one specific section. You can see the yellow tile is facing down (just like the thigh section I did on this MOC). Nevertheless, both the front (start) and back (end) sections are in the same horizontal level (in red).
