Bro truck
Off to the lake!
About this creation
Please feel free to look over the images and skip the verbiage.

Big manly off-road truck headed to Lake Obrix for a weekend of fishin' and drinkin' and hollerin' and rollin' right over (or through) any stream or wildflower or critter that gits in its way! Yeeeeeeee-ha!

Made for a 7-wide car contest at DENLUG's August, 2018 meeting. Lost fair and square, but it got some good laughs.

Took "car" to include pickups and "7-wide" to refer to the widest part of the body. In this case, the entire body is 7-wide. The wheels and the mirrors added later (see below) are ~7.5 studs wide.

Used the tallest badass wheels I could find without flagrant violation of the 7-wide rule.

Canoe unloaded...

Bed emptied (except for toolbox)...

Went studless for the contest for several reasons: (i) Everyone else would likely take the studded route. (ii) Odd widths are natural for a studless chassis. (iii) Hallmark features like mirrors, rack, lights, and trailer hitch would be a fun challenge.

Hey bro, anything bitin' down there?

Don't need no fishin' reel, man! Got me a 5,000 ton winch to haul out the big 'uns!

Never too many lights, bro!

The black mirrors were a late addition.

C'mon, man, too many lights ain't even a thing!

Big chrome exhaust tips -- no better way to make some shade with thick black clouds of diesel smoke!

The truck rolls in a straight line, and the hood and tailgate open. Sorry, no other functions at 7-wide, but stay tuned for the 13-wide version!

How much more gear do you really need for a weekend in the wild? Well, you don't see any beer here, do ya?

All loaded up!

The truck's harder to flip than it looks -- and good thing with this guy drivin'.

So what does our bro take huntin'? What else? A really badass fully restored -67,581,839 Dinotrack!

Day job? Driving a Tatra 813 6-pack transporter between oilfields.

Now, don't get me wrong. President Clinton once said that all honest jobs are honorable, and I believe that, too. But some approaches to the only planet we have are not.

Quoting Clayton Marchetti Great looking truck! Love those tires!
Thanks, Clayton! Finding that those ancient tires fit the lime wheels was the happiest moment of my life that afternoon.

Quoting Gabor Pauler Anywhere in the World you can use this to go forward to the traffic light between 2 lanes. In Russia there is no need for that. You simply go top of other vehicles waiting there...
Another big advantage in traffic: With such a high vantage point, you can pick out the cars you'd just love to smash well advance and plan accordingly. Stupid colors, bumper stickers that set you off, slow-pokes, BMWs, Audis -- all yours to roll over if you're in the mood.

My first reply is in moderation. No clue why.

Quoting Sven ;o) Yeah this is a really creative one. You did such a nice job my good friend and I really like the result. Great colours, story and design :) This is really a fun ride XD
Very kind, my friend! I generally don't like making fun of people, but I have little sympathy for guys who gash and gouge our beautiful Colorado countryside in these things in the name of fun.

Quoting Michael P Really love the colors on this one!
Thanks, Michael! First got into lime and orange because they produce a striking change to yellow in spinning color-mixing tops (http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/421944). Now it's one of my favorite color schemes -- right up there with lime and black.

Quoting Nils O. Yahoooo! That's really a fun ride! Thanks, man, you've made me smile a lot (I still am). :-)) I didn't expect a 7-wide car to look like this one. Great job! :-))
Many thanks, my friend! Especially happy to hear about the smiles. My fellow LUG members didn't see a 7-wide like this coming, either. That also made me happy.

Quoting Seaman SPb Rules of the road for KAMAZ. "Approaching the intersection, look around - are there any other KAMAZ trucks? If not, drive through the intersection of roads, regardless of the traffic light. Traces of paint from cars are easily wiped off the bumper of KAMAZ with a rag soaked in kerosene." Sorry for my english )
If you saw my Russian, you wouldn't be apologizing. Had to look up KAMAZ trucks -- must admit, very impressive. And clearly not to be messed with in traffic. From some of the KAMAZ videos, Russia clearly has its own bros. Even found a video of Putin formally opening a new bridge to just-conquered Crimea by leading a long convoy of shiny red KAMAZ trucks across. Of course, Putin was driving.
