Only two weeks late, finally I present my take on a good friend of mine's SelfMOC, Luterem!
About this creation
Yikes, Luterem has posted two creations in less than a month, I've got to get a move on. :P So yeah, This is the SelfMOC of Luterem(unsurprisingly), who I knew as minigandalf46 back on the General Gallery. Victim of a fatal misunderstanding, The Toa known as Luterem now wanders Spherus Magna alone, an outcast wherever he travels. (Or something like that)

I've also found the setting on my camera that shows the different purple colors in all their full glory, so bask in their purplyness! :P

Before:

After!

Halberd hoisted menacingly over his shoulder.(not the same as the original's but still technically a halberd, so meh)

Front view, with weapon stored(sorta, it's really just tentatively balanced)

Back view, which looks pretty good I think(unlike the original's. XP)

A couple of parts swapped to better emulate the most recent version of the character.

Luterem's signature pose, 'blades out, put me on a poster'(Not the real name)

In lieu of a proper fist bump, this'll have to do.
"Well, you've certainly been better, Torp."
"Ha ha, nice to see you too. Now could you put me down by that pile of parts? I've got work to do."

*Fourth Wall slides open*
I've wanted to make a proper version of his SelfMOC for years now, but never owned the Protector of Earth, so my attempts were weak at best. But this Christmas I finally got her, so it was only a matter of time. A heavy retool of my Toa Of Gravity built for the 2018 Bio-Cup(which I will shamelessly link to here ), This MOC mostly fixes some of the critique I got on that build, and finally gives the character the epic design he's deserved ever since my original failed attempt. Comments and criticism are always welcome, and I hope this was worth the wait! Guess that's it for now, Torp out.

I honestly don't get the "fat dwarf" vibe at all...

Quoting Duck Paté No problem. Also, avoid the yellowy look in your photography at all costs. It’s better for other colors to not be as vibrant than for everything else to be too warm.
I know, it's what I get for setting up under yellow fluorescent lamps. I was just so happy to finally find a setting that displayed the purple properly I was willing to take the hit with the rest of the colors. :P

Quoting Duck Paté The blue and green I believe is the worst
Okay, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for going through all that hassle.

Quoting Duck Paté The link won’t work on my phone
Oh, sorry. Go to Flickr, Search "Just Torp" in the 'people' category, I'll show up. Newest picture in the photostream. It's more for memory jogging than actual reference, I can add the individual photos if you'd like.

Quoting Duck Paté That Toa team you did a while ago. And there was an agori

Quoting Duck Paté In all seriousness, this is pretty good. I would opt against over-integrating system (which isn’t here, but I’ve seen you do it before. It makes it look blocky)
Thanks. Could you give an example or two? This is a problem I was unaware of until recently, and I need to make sure I don't keep it up by accident.

Quoting Ivan Wanderer of the wasteland nice photoshopping skills, the build looks cool. He does look like a fat dwarf though. I wish I could make torsos like that, maybe I just need to get better in general. :P
I really can't see this dwarf look everyone keeps talking about. Don't worry too much about making torsos like this, they don't do well in competitions. :P Thanks!

Quoting Luterem Toa of Gravity Proportions aren't great, something just seems off, and the larger wrist blades make the fore-arms really bulky, which looks a bit odd. The legs also seem slightly too short, I think, not exactly sure, but it just seems a bit stocky to me, but that's probably just partially personal preference, since Luterem in my mind really isn't supposed to look like a dwarf. :P
http://images.moc-pages.com/user_images/133717/1533597563m_DISPLAY.jpg I believe I have fixed your proportion complaints. :P

Quoting Luterem Toa of Gravity I was wondering if you would ever post this. :P I'll just jump on the train of criticism, since whatever I say will inevitably be nicer than that of the criticism you got at the bio-cup. :P To start, the torso is better than the original, although it's still sort of blocky, which isn't great, but definitely better than the original. The trans purple could of been distributed better, while looking nice on the back, from the front pretty much the only noticeable trans-purple is the shoulders, which isn't great. Proportions aren't great, something just seems off, and the larger wrist blades make the fore-arms really bulky, which looks a bit odd. The legs also seem slightly too short, I think, not exactly sure, but it just seems a bit stocky to me, but that's probably just partially personal preference, since Luterem in my mind really isn't supposed to look like a dwarf. :P Also, the armor plating on the back of the lower legs seems mildly out of place texture-wise, as the rest of the build is fairly smooth. Also the halberd design is fantastic, slightly more ornate than my design, but that's fine. But overall I must say this is probably one of your best builds yet, although my large amount of critisism, but it's actually a fairly solid build.
Ha ha, you saw that eh? I was not prepared. :P But he came back and cleared it up, which helped. Yeah, for all the complaints against it I'm still ridiculously proud of the torso design, and wanted to use it again. I don't have any more trans-purple to spread, but it looks better with closer inspection, lots of small pieces. The torso is too small and the arms are too long, I know. Humorously, I made the arms longer to accommodate the more your-style custom armoring, and the legs longer to keep them from looking goofy, but didn't heighten the torso(I liked it too much. :P) It was supposed to be a simple retool, take like 15 minutes to cobble together, and it took like 8 hours because I'm insane. :P Either way, this was really just for fun, so I'm okay with it not being perfect.

Quoting Meepinater C. good job! nice to see you building again!
It's not that I haven't been building, it's just posting that's the problem. :P You'd think after spending hours on a MOC I wouldn't mind spending 15 minutes or so to post the thing, but nooo, that's totally a drag in my mind. :P

Quoting Juppiter Augustus Furnus (JimiFurno) Very nice version of Mini's SM! I like that Halberd! I've got to make yours and Mini's SM...
Thanks! Yeah, took quite a few versions before I gave up trying to imitate the original weapon and picked a different style. Well, you technically already did... :P
