Season 2, Episode 6 of the Insurgency, my entry to the GC for the month of July.
About this creation

Hello, every-Lego-buddy! I actually got this in in time! Yay! Well, close enough, I think. It is after midnight, I know, but I hope it's okay for me to do that, R.K. :D There's a little of both Dart and Virgil in this episode, so I hope it's good. And it might be a tad loose with the GC, but I think Virgil's part will cover it okay. And also, just a quick warning, a lot of dialogue here, not much action this time around, but I did my best to make it interesting. ;D Anyway, onto the story!

JULY 24, 2098

TOLIV - UNSPECIFIED CITY

DSCN0084

Dart slowly walked down the street. It was late, and he didn't want to attract any more attention then he had to. He was already tired enough. It had been a long day, and he was ready to disappear from the world til tomorrow.

No one had come looking for him since he'd seen that woman, now a month ago, but he was still on edge. She'd... affected him, gotten inside his head, in some way. And he wasn't sure how, or why, but ever since then, he'd been jumpier, more alert, more suspicious of people. Not a good way to avoid drawing attention. But tonight, he was too tired to even try. He just wanted to sleep.

DSCN0085

Then he heard footsteps behind him. Light, but determined, and coming up quickly. He didn't pay much attention at first, but then a voice spoke.

"... Dart?"

Dart froze. Stiff as a board. Nothing else even crossed his mind. It had to be her. How did she know him? Who was she? And how had she found him?

DSCN0086

Slowly, he turned part way around, looking back at the source of the voice. It was her. The same woman from the meeting. Same outfit, even. One part of Dart's mind was saying that that was kinda weird, but everything else was telling him that this woman meant something to him. He didn't know why, or how, but she did.

DSCN0087

Slowly, the mystery woman began walking towards him, her eyes never leaving his face. Dart met her stare, trying to remember where he'd seen her before. But... his damn memory was not being helpful today. Just like every time since he'd woken up on that station. And she was familiar, dammit. He knew her, from somewhere. Just... where?

Getting closer, she spoke again. "I... I thought you were dead."

A clue. Dart's mind jumped into high gear, trying to figure out how to use this. "Well, I guess I was, in a sense. For a while, anyway."

DSCN0088

By now, they were face to face. The woman was still looking right at him. "But... how?"

Dart raised an eyebrow. "How what?"

"How did you survive? No one could have. No one should have."

Dart's gaze hardened. "Are you complaining about that?"

Quickly, she shook her head. "No, no I'm not, I just... I'm confused. Please, tell me. How... how are you still alive?"

Dart realized that he couldn't bluff this part, and probably not most of it. "If... if I'm being honest, I... I don't know. I... I can't remember."

The woman's eyes widened slightly. "What do you mean, you can't remember?"

"I mean I... I don't remember the last 2 years. Anything, from fall of 2095 til this past January, when I woke up in a droid hospital on an abandoned station. My memory is..." Dart trailed off, not sure why he'd just said all that. Did he... did he actually trust this woman that much? Then he saw her eyes. They were wet, with uncried tears. Just barely, but he could see them.

"You, can't remember? The last 2 years?" Her voice was curious, inquiring, and... sad, barely. He'd... he'd touched something in her. He meant something to her. And... and Dart realized that... that she meant something to him, too. From... somewhere.

DSCN0089

Then another thought occurred to him. "I... I'm sorry, but, I don't think I know your name."

The woman drew in a quick breath. "Right, of course not, of course you wouldn't. I... I'm Silia." As she said that, she stretched out her hand, in greeting almost. Dart hesitated for a second, then reached and took it. "Dart. But, I'm assuming you already knew that."

Silia smiled, slightly. It looked good on her, Dart thought. "Yeah, I did. But it's good to hear it from you again."

JULY 30, 2098

EARTH, EGYPT, ALEXANDRIA

DSCN0094

Virgil glanced at his pad, then back at the blue figure in his left hand. "So, we still have nothing?"

The figure shook its head. "No, sir. There is nothing to show that this Storm exists anywhere other then what you found originally. They're very good at hiding their tracks. The best I've ever seen, in fact."

DSCN0096

Virgil straightened up from leaning against the wooden table behind him. "What about our rats? No word on the streets?"

Again, the figure shook its head. "Just a bunch of dead ends, Virgil. Nothing substantial, and nothing we can trace. We even lost a couple rats in the search."

Virgil's eyebrows tightened. "This is getting annoying, Kelsey. I asked you to look into this 4 months ago. Why is it taking so long?"

"Because there's nothing to find, sir." Kelsey's voice was level, but firm. "That this group exists, I have no doubt. There's several coincidences that cant be ignored, but there's no trail, no proof, nothing that says this group physically exists, even though it's obvious they have to."

DSCN0097

Virgl nodded, taking a deep breath. "That is true enough. Thank you Kelsey, I don't think have anything more for you today. Check in later when you have something to report. I'll be heading to Brussels after this stop, so check in with Lawton there if you have anything for me."

Kelsey nodded. "Will do, sir." With that, the transmission ended.

DSCN0099

Checking his pad again, Virgil glanced around the room. He liked coming here, even if it was only once ever couple years or so. The concrete foundation was kind of obvious at the base of the floor and walls, but from there on up, it was wood. Kind of nice, Virgil thought. A throwback, if you will.

It was just a rest house, it was called. A place where you could sit, rest, use the facilities if needed. At least that was modern, Virgil thought to himself with a wry smile. But the rest of vintage, the sign said outside. And even if it wasn't accurate to the area, it was still a nice place to come.

DSCN0101

Then Virgil heard footsteps coming towards him. Aloud, he said "What is it, Bo?"

A second later, his bodyguard, Bo (short for Boandroes) appeared, holding a transmission cube. "Sir, I apologize for the interruption, but this just got to us. It's rather urgent." His voice, while a deep base, was soft and friendly, not what you'd expect from someone with his looks. That's why Virgil liked him. He looked like a monster, sounded like your nice neighbor, and was as loyal to Virgil as a dog to its master.

DSCN0103

Reaching out, Virgil took the cube, glancing at it. "What's it about?"

Bo shrugged. "I don't know, sir, but it was marked red, so I brought it to you."

Virgil nodded. "Good for you." With that, he pressed the transmission button. A recording started to play. "'I... I'm sorry, but, I don't think I know your name.'"
It was Dart. And Silia. "'Right, of course not, of course you wouldn't. I... I'm Silia.' 'Dart. But, I'm assuming you already knew that.' 'Yeah, I did. But it's good to hear it from you again.'"

There, the recording ended, leaving Virgil and Bo in silence. For a few seconds, neither one said anything. Then Bo spoke."

DSCN0104

"How? How could he have survived, Virgil?"

Slowly, Virgil lowered the cube, staring at the opposite wall. "Well... whatever the answer, we must deal with the immediate problem of him being back. With how much he knows, we could all be in danger."

Bo shook his head. "But sir, we threw him down a compacter. No one survives that."

"Apparently he did." Virgil turned his head to look at Bo now. "And believe me, I'm honestly just as curious as you are, but we need to contain him first, then we can find out what happened."

DSCN0109

Bo nodded slightly. "Very well, Virgil. What are your instructions?"

Virgil paused for a moment, considering. "Well, we need to do something about him, right away. But I want to crack this Storm case, it's getting on my nerves. And we have the whole business to run as normal, also. So then... Send Beryl after him. She'll be interested to know he's alive, I'm sure. And tell Kelsey that he can draw whatever he wants for his Storm chase."

Bo bowed slightly. "Yes sir." With that, he left the room, leaving Virgil alone. As he always had been.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So... thoughts?

If you made it here, well done. XD But I wanted to get all that out of the way, so I hope it was interesting. And I'm pretty sure that this counts for the GC as fighting against a gang/criminal organization, since that's basically what Virgil's doing here. ;)

Anyway, my next build will have to be a rank up build, I see, so that'll be fun. Anyway, looking forward to seeing all you guys here next time. Hoped you liked this, and... Allonsy!

Quoting Werewolff Studios You've heard from Wolff now mate! :D Sorry about the lack of activity; just getting caught up now. And what a great way to start off! I'm really liking Virgil's hunt for the Storm, and don't worry I'll be sure to reference it in kind soon. Another top notch episode my friend!
Wolff! Great to see you back! And that's okay. After all, I think my streach of inactivity was a lot longer then yours. ;D and thank you very much for the vote of confidence. Can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Quoting --R.K. Blast-- Good stuff! Sorry for the late comment. Yeah, it juuuuust about fits in the GC. haha! But as you're the only one who tried, I'll let you have it! Interesting to see the developments here. I wonder what'll happen next! Your points have been added. --Blast--
Thanks, R.K. And yeah, it's almost-kinda-sorta in, isn't it. ;D but I thought it'd be enough, since at the moment Virgil is trying to figure out what the Storm is, quite possibly in order to take it down. So I decided to go with it. Btw, have you seen Wolff recently?

Quoting Captain Kenbo Cool man. I like whenever someone uses locations on Earth. Sure there's two whole systems out there to explore but Earth also has some unique places haha
