About this creation
A replica of the M35 Mako from Mass Effect

The M35 Mako IFV from BioWare's 2007 sci-fi roleplaying masterpiece, Mass Effect.

Though cut from the subsequent games, along with many aspects that gave the original Mass Effect such charm, the Mako was a useful if ungainly combat vehicle that also served an important if subtle story role. Allowing you to drive from place to place in real time gave you a real sense of scale.

I've attempted to capture the vehicle's likeness in bricks, complete with suspension and a moving turret, as well as seating for three.

The game goes to the length of including little working tail lights in a jumping space-tank, so I managed to fit some in my model.

The empty cabin is relatively spartan.

The cabin of the Mako fits at least three, and once four in the 2007 game, but later media would show an eight-seater version.
Mine fits three comfortable, but could probably squeeze four, not unlike the game version.

The underside is dull, but shows off the functional suspension rendered in simple fashion.

4th Wall:
A rebuild of an older MOC, with better design and a lot more functionality and detail.

Quoting Mike-Pick (brickunion758) This would make an awesome Transformer!
I hadn't thought about that, but it probably could be adapted to be a Transformer.

Quoting Jp ... Played the game a few months ago, driving the Mako was a unique mix of awkwardness and fun :) Lovely rendition, I like how you managed to make the whole thing really sleek while also keeping an overall sturdy look.
Thanks, really glad it came across well. The Mako certainly needed some refinement in the original Mass Effect, but I think it's a real shame they just cut it (or replaced it with the Hammerhead, sort of) in ME2.

Quoting Toa of Sushi Aw man, the nostalgia. Going up hills upside-down, "jumping" to avoid missiles... Anyway, you definitely nailed the sleek, no-fat design Mass Effect vehicles tend to have. I'm with Lt. Vega on this one. Mako > Hammerhead!
The Mako vastly outstrips the Hammerhead in all ways. I'm glad you're pleased with my rendition :)

Quoting matt rowntRee Great version! Loved that vehicle and was sad that it never showed up again in later games. It really had a character all its own, still feel a loss for it when it gets destroyed after transporting you through the final relay. RIP loyal Mako. Love how you tackled the angled sides, and of course the brake lights. Were they really necessary in the game? XD Excellent!
I'm glad you like it! It's a real shame that the Mako didn't feature in subsequent games, though seeing it at the end of 3 was gratifying. It was such a fun part of the Mass Effect experience, and made the worlds feel big.
