This is my 10 year old daughter's LEGO Elves theme MOC creature, the storm dragon.
About this creation
This build started when we found out that her 2 latest LEGO Elves dragon sets came with one extra wing. One Bricklink order later and we had 2 pairs of extra wings and 2 extra LEGO Elves dragon heads. Enough for each of us to build our own Elves style dragon. For the build, we each decided that our dragon must seat at least 1 Elves mini doll (her's seats 2) and should resemble the style of the Elves sets while creating our own MOC dragons.
This is the storm dragon, capable of using its magic to create lighting storms and tornadoes when threatened.
She built the fully articulated head and necks using ball joint plates.
We didn't have the same type of parts used in the Elves dragon sets to mount the wings, so we put together a mechanism that allows the wings to be positioned for walking, flying and resting.
The wings are joined to the body with a combination of ball joint plates and Technic pins and holders. They make a sturdy but movable connection.
The legs are attached with ball joint plates, so they are able to be freely positioned.
Here is the storm dragon lying down to rest.
Here is a picture of the storm dragon with its much larger friend, the Earthquake Dragon (my MOC).
