"60 Wall Street is a 50-story skyscraper (745 feet, 227 meters) on Wall Street in the heart of the Financial District in Lower Manhattan, and it currently serves as the American headquarters of Deutsche Bank. It is built in the postmodern style."
About this creation
My 3rd Lower-Manhattan skyscraper is one I have been looking forward to building.
60 Wall Street has an interesting design and stands out in the New York Skyline, while it is overshadowed by the taller buildings that surround it such as 40 Wall Street and 70 Pine Street, it does have a very distinctive design. Much like 32 Old Slip.
The building features 55 stories and reaches a height of 745 feet (227m). It is currently the joint-41st tallest building in New York City, tied only with One Astor Plaza.
The top part of the building is what makes it interesting, the corners turn from square shaped to very pillar-like, this really inspired me to recreate this using 1x2 plates with 1x1 studs stacked ontop.
Using Google maps and images, it was very hard to get a clear perspective of the base of the building because of how narrow the streets around it are. However, I feel I have done a reasonably good job.
As a whole I think this MOC turned out very well and stands as one of my better creations. There is room on the baseplate to attatch one of the neighbouring buildings but I haven't bothered to add that on yet.
My Lower-Manhattan skyscrapers so far; obviously there isn't much but I will probably add more at some point in the future.
Here is a preview of one of my next creations... currently a W.I.P
