About this creation
Sigh. Two years. It's been two years since Sand left SWRP, left the gallery, left us. Like Windy, I could easily take this speech down a route of motivation, give it a tone of "We've done alright without him. We are survivors!" And, while that may be true, it isn't really fair to Sand and it most certainly doesn't capture the scope of everything he did for the community of the Lego Star Wars Gallery. So, instead of the rousing motivational piece you likely expected from me, I'd like to run through a short list of the most notable things Sand ever did on the gallery in homage to one of my closest friends on the Star Wars Gallery.

1. He joined. It may not seem like a notable task, but when he joined, he began to share his creativity with the world. And while joining doesn't necessarily warrant a notable event in and of itself, he immediately began posting, sharing his ideas and creations, which is easily the most important aspect of the Lego community

2. He joined a club. Much like simply beginning to use the gallery, this doesn't seem like a notable task. But it just goes to show even more how interested and invested Sand was in the community.

3. He created SWRP (albeit with some help) and ran it for years. This is the big one, the one most of you remember him for. I don't feel like this needs a whole lot of explanation. He created a game that touched nearly everyone on the gallery in some way and united so many members of the community over the years that it's impossible to remember them all. That alone, the unification of a whole community, is more than reason enough to remember him.

4. He was a friend to all. No one could join the gallery without receiving a welcome from Sand. He worked very hard to help everyone and make as many people enjoy their day as he could. It was mainly this constant kindness and positivity that made him so well-loved and respected.

5. He left us a legacy. He didn't just leave a legacy for the future leaders of SWRP, he left a legacy for everyone. By his actions and example, he challenged us to be the best we could be and to treat others well. His legacy is a guide to everyone of how to treat others, even when facing tough or stressful times in your life.

Well, I think I've gone on long enough. To those of you who knew Sand, especially those who knew him well, you know exactly what I'm talking about. To those of you who didn't know him, know this: he was a wonderful person and none of my words in this post can do him justice. I can't properly describe just how nice if a person he was or just how influential to the community he still is. When he left the Lego community forever on July 7, 2016, SWRP lost the greatest leader it will ever see, a man I can't hope to even parallel. I lost a great friend that day. We all did, and we will never forget him. We must always keep his legacy in mind and do our best to follow his example in our interactions with others. Knowing his time with the community made an impact on our interactions with each other and on our creativity is what Sand would have wanted. I only wish he could be with us today. And so, as Sand's successor as director of the Star Wars Role Play, I emphasize once again to follow his example and be the best you can be. With people like Sand in our community, we will always remain more like a family and stick together. God bless!

@loli: I care about the legacy. But as one of your commanders, it's hard to do a general's orders when he leaves no orders. Additionally, it's hard to do a general's orders when there's no game to do the orders in, so, I mean, there is that.

Coincidentally the day Sand left the gallery was the day I joined.

<<<< Underscore Maverick Hey, I'm interested in the legacy. Granted, it's more interest in whether or not it'll fall, but interest nonetheless. xD
I'm gonna be completly honest with you here, Mav; that comment prompted a sudden and inexplicable urge in me to punch you in the throat. I am, as you may have guessed, completely befuddled as to why I would be overcome by such a feeling...T_T

Quoting Jedi Master0310 You're telling me. Us "old" guys didn't have this kind of stress when he was still around. But then, you weren't running the biggest club and and I wasn't running the whole game then. He made it look easy and i think it's safe to say we both know it's not
Absolutely. I'm barely keeping up, but then I think of Sand. I wasn't about to leave his legacy to be understated by letting his faction go down, but then it's barely on life support with the current leadership... I even tried to align an infrastructure to gaurd against my recent inactivity, but I guess my commanders aren't too thrilled to work for the hero who failed them. Heh, you know it's funny, in a bitter sort of way. Me, giving up my own potential for a great legacy to protect a legacy that, when it boils down to it, only you and I really care about.
