No excuse here, I've been a lousy MOCpage-er. Sorry about the quarterly "Hey Folks, I'm still alive!", that's about the best that my schedule can permit.
Ah well, here's a build that's been sitting on my desk for about 4 weeks. I know in my last build I mentioned that I'd have a build posted within a couple weeks, but that turned into a few months. So here's the long awaited (at least I hope) build that I'd been working on.
I wanted to go all-out crazy with this guy, crazy to the point that you'll be hard pressed to find any real 90 degree angles in it. This is a small two-man gunship that gets used a lot in ground support. As such it's got an impressive arsenal, many of which have made the "classified" list.
I kinda like the multi-branch look. Since this whole build is based off of a snaking "vertebra-ed" spine and a multi-hinge core, I was able to achieve a well-varied look that has exceeded pretty much all of my other sci-fi builds.
It's got a real mean front-on look, does it not? I usually don't settle for elevating my creations on pedestals, I did this one by necessity. Otherwise, it looks way too lax, like it's settling in for an afternoon nap. That simply would not do...
This engine setup was hugely challenging, I probably spent most of my time back here trying to rig this up. I finally decided to split the central spine to either side so that I could provide additional support for the engine cage. The join is a little awkward, but at least the back is self-supporting now.
Don't ask about the dual cannon, it's big and it's mean. That's all you've got to know...
The two tiers of fully articulated anti-personnel cannons were some of the first things that I created. Yeah, more might be done to spiff them up, but I do like the angles and the 2x2 gray disc that helps unify them to the rest of the build.
So other than the fact that my photo editor was refusing to work and I noticed after I took the pictures that there are two things out of place on this build that made my OCD almost scream, I'm pleased with the end result and happy to finally get this guy posted (especially before Froggy found out. He finally thought that I wasn't going to ever post it, so he was lulled into a false sense of security).
What do y'all think?
I've got another idea cooking, but it might be a ways away from entering reality...
Awesome ship, Promar! It would be cooler if it were white, though. Oh, and I think Froggy broke out of your house, because he's spying on the board meeting in my newest MOC! (Or perhaps he just wants coffee)
This is really exceptional, just absolutely stunning. I love the angling that you have accomplished on this MOC, with all the curved bricks flowing together seamlessly to give this ship a really sleek and elegant (yet aggressive) look. And don't worry about being "lousy MOCpager" - I have been far worse! ;) Anyway dude, awesome work here! Happy building and God bless!
Amazing build! *Realizes there's a bug on the screen* *Faints*. *An hour later* ANYWAYS, like I said, great build! The way the wings, engines, and cockpit all blend together seamlessly is truly amazing! Very inspiring build!
It's amazing! I really like the design of the wings and the cockpit. The red color was a good choise, I think it makes this MOC unique. Nice job on the back engines, great use of the snot technique there. Excellent work!
God bless, AxuBuilder
Epic ship Promar! I was pretty sure you were still alive... I love the multi-wing, multi-angle design. Almost all my spaceships follow the same shape of a V. And of course you named it something awesome whereas I simply throw a few numbers and letter together. It's a really unique design but somehow it doesn't look strange. Can't see froggy anywhere though...
God bless! -Winnjetbrick
