During the Great Steam War, the Empire developed more and more potent weapons. The Insurgent class destroyer was an earlier design, modified from main line passenger locomotives. As such, it was lightly armed with only two medium caliber guns, and its armor plating was considered light compared to its rival, the so aptly named Destroyer-class. Even though outmoded in the middle of the war, the Insurgents continued to serve as escorts and scouts for the Empire's larger vessels such as the massive Olympic class railships. Their speed and lightfootedness lead them to great success in this role and many Insurgents survived the war with almost legendary combat records. It was because of the Insurgent and many other classes that the Empire enjoys the peace it has today.
This build features two turrets which can fully rotate(But not elevate, a problem I still am working on for the smaller guns like these), as well as a decently detailed interior.
Disclaimer, the Insurgent is not meant to negotiate standard Lego turns but with the right modifications can possibly negotiate turns of 104 studs radius and larger. She was built mainly to be a set piece in the background of my other Steam War builds. Credit goes to Beau Donnan, who created the Steam War universe that I'm adding my own designs to. Hello High Admiral, I'm also a LDD creator and I have borrowed The Insurgent to make my own design that I have call it The Vanguarde Class Super Heavy RailDestroyer. Now I have a new idea, but I will need your Big Boy Gen2 with her drive wheels if you can. Don't worry, I don't want your Navy Big Boy Gen2.
