A Moving Castle
A perfect marriage of 12th and 20th Century defence technology...
About this creation

Decisive Action, Mechanised Infantry.

Behold the CCCP's engine of war, the Moving Castle. Fourteen Thousand tons of ancient stone, protecting our troops as they lay waste our enemies. Slowly, natch.

A working and quite long drawbridge. Don't want our brave soldiers getting tired on the ascent.

The portcullis, which rises up, and comes crashing down. Best not to tarry under it...

Normally a Murder Hole (they were good at names 900 years ago..), now a hatch for Ethelred the driver to get to his seat. The bigger hatch behind accesses the engine compartment.

He's down there somewhere... but he's unready for this.

That V8's gotta be working hard...

So who's aboard ? No-one in the Throne Room... where could our great and glorious leader be ?

Knights wait to throw axes at anyone who dares to climb up the spare track on the walls. Yeah, we didn't think that through...

The Black Knight stands guard at the rear.

Three more defend the other side.

And the gunner... trust our glorious leader to want to get back in the thick of it!

Not for this Queen the comforts of the throne room. She's happiest in a turret. On a turret.

She'll strafe 'em at all sides. And the keep if she's not careful.

Trundling inexorably on, stopping only for low bridges...

The tracks have Christie-type suspension. Weight distribution leads to interesting handling...

There's plenty of room in here for more than it's current complement of 6 knights, gunner/Queen and driver. Be afraid.

Did it have to be so tall ? Absolutely yes. More is better!

The crew. Ethelred the driver gazes fondly at The Queen Of Everything, Her Royal Highness, Jane. He wishes...

Behind them, left to right, Sir Lancelot, Sir Gawain, Sir George, Sir Tun, The Black Knight - who's wearing red today - and Nigel from accounts.

Coming soon to a battlefield near you.

This was a serious A+ crazy build! It's a shame we never got a landing craft for it.

Back and better than ever! General Barrett your Mechanized Infantry Squad is specifications-accurate and ready to roll thunderously into Turn 2. Good luck, and kudos for the fortitude to bounce back in style.

Fantastic idea Nick! In my mind, the guys at the top have French accents and yell insults down to the feeble minded, mouth breathers who get in the way of that thing :)
  April 10, 2018
Nick, can you make all of your vehicles castles from here on out? I would love to see a castle logistics boat and a castle ground attack aircraft.

Dang son! Trust you to take a ridiculous concept and make it a fantastic addition to the army! Love the homage to the classic castle, as well as the rotating turret. Always good to see Queen Jane again (this time in figure form!), but I think we may have a hidden hero in Nigel from accounts! Best of luck in the coming attack my friend!

Wow! You have certainly turned an initial mistake into a great opportunity here. This is just pure genius in every detail. Can't wait to see the landing craft that will accommodate this thing.

If I remember correctly, they had hanging towers which dropped the candybars right into the moat.*Ploop!* Brown water yay :D But I like your thinking Nick, throwing it at the enemy is totally durable.

Did they have loos ? Or did they just fling it at the enemy ? Enquiring minds need to know...
