About this creation
CATEGORY 10: Ground Attack Aircraft (MILPO)
In DA3, the Ground Attack Aircraft is used to attack targets on the ground with greater precision than strategic bombers. They are modern attack aircraft that may be expected to function in high threat environments where enemy air defences preclude the use of strategic bombers.
Your Ground Attack Aircraft MOC must comply with the following 4 SPECs:
1. Your Ground Attack Aircraft MOC is minifig scale and must accommodate 2 pilots.
2. Your Ground Attack Aircraft requires wings that must be photographed at 2 distinct angles. (up/down, straight/swept back, etc.)
3. Your Ground Attack Aircraft must feature 3 distinct weapon systems.
4. Your Ground Attack Aircraft must include at least 1 air intake.
New from Ogrch Tec comes the Competition-class Assault Aircraft! This large two-seater aircraft will be used by the Democratic People's Republic of Not an Oligarchy to rule the skies! Armed with five different double cannons, and sporting five massive engines, this ship is ready for takeoff! (The weird white thing underneath it is a stand. Ignore it.)
A front view of the cockpit. You can sort of see the sides of the stand behind it. The lower one is the pilot, and the upper one is the gunner/co-pilot, thus fulfilling SPEC #1
Here you can see the wings, each with a fixed dual cannon on it. Their primary purpose is to hit forward targets, be it things on the ground during dive-bomb missions or enemy fighters the Competition is giving chase to. This is the first of three weapons systems.
here you can see the top of the ship, as well as the two topside dual turrets which each independently can rotate 360 degrees as well as change the elevation of their firing arc by about 30 or 45 degrees. Their primary purpose is to shoot down enemy aircraft. This is the second of three weapons systems.
This is the underside tail gun, another dual turret which can also move 360 degrees, and can change it's firing arc elevation by quite a bit (IDK how much). The primary purpose of this weapon is to hit ground targets or tailing enemy fighters. This is the final of three weapons systems, fulfilling SPEC #3
This is the ship in landing mode. The wings fold up (fulfilling SPEC #2) and landing gear comes down from the body. The cockpit also levels out to allow for a smooth landing.
This is a top view of the two pilots/gunners and their controls.
Here the two pilots, left Janice Cricket and right Harvey Mason, are standing by the left wing of the craft, underneath the fixed dual cannon. Behind them the two wing-mounted engines' fronts can be seen, which are the air intakes. Additionally back behind them and to the viewer's right of the landing gear is one of the two air intakes for the back engine. Air comes in there and is funneled back to the engine. This fulfills SPEC #4.
In case anyone wondered how the cockpit moved the answer is technic pins.
And here's the stand.
Remember, this is not an Oligarchy. There are not four (or five) ruling families or armies of surveillance robots among us, our country is ruled by the people, for the people. This message brought to you by J@m3s Not-A-Robot, Minister of Propaganda.
