In the 1920s until the 1950s, coachbuilding was very popular among the wealthiest. But in the 1960s, they're basically out of business. Touring Superleggera was one of them. But it was recently revived. They decided to strip the panels of the gorgeous Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione and gave it a handbuilt body that pays homage to the Alfa Romeo Disco Volante of the 1950s. Actually, I have made the Disco Volante a few years ago, but it looked so ugly. So I rebuilt it.
About this creation
The Disco Volante Coupe.
The gorgeous lines.
The engine came from the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, which came from Maserati.
Because every Disco Volante is bespoke, you can order any colour that you want, including green and gold.
Even the axhaust pipes are red!
A grey Disco Volante with carbon accents.
Maybe this colour is my favourite!
What do you think?
In 2016, Touring surprised all of us by chopping the roof off the Disco Volante.
It is still gorgeous!
And in this year's Geneva Motor Show, they showed us a red one.
