Tales on Tatooine: An Imperial Patrol heads out to scout the sandy plains of Tatooine
About this creation
The whole diorama, bought lots of those cool new stems in Dark Orange, great to use them!
Side on view
Back view of the AT-ST
It can indeed support it's own weight, but it did take a lot of trail and error to get it like this
The whole Patrol
The Imperial Officer leads the Patrol
Joe the Stormtrooper enjoys the walk, but hates the heat
AT-ST feet, which I still don't understand how these hold up the MOC structurally, but they do hahaha
Totally got the inspiration to build this from Star Wars Rebels.
Man I still want to see more Star War Rebel sets, we just didn't get enough
I've been doing my best to catch up with Season 4 of Rebels, sadly no matter where I look I can't buy it or view it in Australia. When I try to buy it digitally on Amazon it has a region lock
Which is a shame, I don't want to illegally download them, I'll happily pay to watch them... but I just can't, there are no platforms to do so.
Still loved Rebels so far and I marathoned the show as I built the Tales on Tatooine Series
I didn't really have any set reason behind building 4 Tatooine MOCs. I ended up building 1 and then many more spawned out of that idea, so yeah they just kinda evolved I suppose :P
I've started to rewatch the Clone Wars again, so good! This time I'm watching them in cannon order. Man it's so cool to do that!
Oh side note, if you do know someway I can catch up on Rebels Season 4 that I don't know about, let me know, I'll give it a go :)
No Season 4 spoilers btw!
And that's all folks!
Fourth Wall Commentary:
BOOM! That's it for part 2 of 4 in my Tales on Tatooine Series. This one was unique and fun for me as I rarely build vehicles. I tend to prefer landscapes, buildings or dioramas, but this was a blast, I'd love to build more in the future :)
Quoting Ben Cossy Thanks all! Oh man what a joy to read your comment MC, thanks for that link too ;) Man you really gotta watch the full Clone Wars dude, the last few seasons are insanely good. At least watch the Umbara and Mandalore/Maul arc's if nothing else. They are so so good! Don't forget those unreleased episodes too!
You misunderstand. I wasn't going to go through the whole thing in the comment. It was already long enough as it is. I was just setting up the example. Umbara might just be the highlight of the whole show. For the most part, with the exception of two episodes about R2 and 3PO on a zany adventure, Season 4 is the best Season in my opinion because it is big battles with Clones and Droids, you know, like the show suggests. I've got the whole series on DVD and Blu-ray. I even voted for the Season 5 box art! Obi-Wan is fine, but he looks funny because he's from the other best story arc, but Ahsoka would have been better because it was ultimately her Season since she starred in three of the arcs, and before the Lost Missions were announced, the Season 5 finale tied a bow on the show and Ahsoka was there for all of it, she deserved the box art in my opinion. My one wish is for the Bad Batch, and all the other unfinished episodes be released somehow (Utapau can stay with the Lost Missions Blu-ray.), or at least the Bad Batch and the Celebration panels talking about the other stories that were never finished. I'd hate for there to be a weird crash on starwars.com and we lose them. The only Star Wars movies and shows I'll be missing out on now are the ones that are exclusive to Disney's streaming service. (You greedy [CENSORED]! I hope it fails and fails hard!) I already don't subscribe to a streaming service so I'm missing out on Stephen King shows, but now I'm going to be missing out on Star Wars?! If Star Wars is for everyone, why are you making it exclusive? Unless they get released on Blu-ray like the Lost Missions, I'll probably never see them. Well, that's not entirely true, there are ways, but shhh...

As for the walker, I'm not too sold on it, there are some nice bits to it, but ultimately the legs feel a bit too thick, and possibly too short, as well. However, I've never tried making an AT-ST from scratch, I'd have just modified a set or stole most of the designs from one because I have no imagination. But the groundwork, I really like it. It's rare to see vegetation on Tatooine, but I'm pretty sure we have seen some, plus, what are Banthas and Dewbacks supposed to eat? Well, I suppose Dewbacks would be like actual lizards and eat bugs and maybe even a Bantha if they get lucky, but what do the bugs and Banthas eat? And as for Rebels, it's been rad man, the Finale is next week, time to get crackin'! And when it comes to watching Clone Wars, I should really give that a try, but since I have the DVDs and am too lazy to deal with taking them all in and out, and I don't like the copied versions from people on the Internet, I'll probably never get around to doing it. But what I did do in hype for the first half of Season 4 of Rebels and The Last Jedi, I started on August 1st and watched a movie, story arc, or episode each day. Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Clone Wars Volume 1 (Because it's still canon to me. Tartakovsky rocked that show, it's too awesome to ignore, even if things get a bit funky with the other Clone Wars show in the way.), Clone Wars movie, Season 1 of Clone Wars with Ambush being 1 night, but then all three Malevolence episodes also being one night, and on and on, Clone Wars Volume 2, Revenge of the Sith, Rebels (This is where depending on how much each episode leads into the next I mostly watched one episode a day, but the first two episodes and Empire Day 1 and 2 and the last three episodes of Season 1 got their own nights unseparated.), Rogue One, Star Wars, Empire, Jedi, Force Awakens, and then The Last Jedi. There were a few weeks where I got behind, but that's okay because at about mid November, that's where the line ended, so I got to pace myself toward the end the closer we got to the premiere. For one thing, it was nice to rewatch all that stuff, I hadn't seen the movies in awhile, because Rebels was going on, I hadn't rewatched Clone Wars in awhile, because we only have the one Blu-Ray player connected to the TV and portable players are super expensive since they barely made them and stopped in 2012, it made rewatching Rebels a bit difficult although they were all on demand through my cable provider (Wow! That was convenient!), I hadn't been rewatching that either so I forgot a bunch of stuff. For a second thing, the story that Rebels has been telling even in just the Third Season and even more in Four not only ties up the loose threads from Clone Wars, but also ties things in with Rogue One (Saw's paranoia is more understandable as you see him go mad in Rebels), as well as everything in Star Wars. I initially wasn't happy at how much established characters kept coming into the show and taking the spotlight away from developing the main characters' characters, but eventually they all got developed and it's amazing. In some ways Rebels is actually better than Clone Wars (Although Clone Wars is still better than Rebels in the majority of things, and the Tartakovsky Clone Wars is better than both because nostalgia is unstoppable), and it's sad to see that it will be going away. Now hopefully there will be some new thing that takes place between Jedi and Force Awakens, hopefully moreso on Snoke and the First Order's side of things because they still need developing and the Sequel Trilogy could still feel closer to the actual Saga than it has been. Star Wars Explained did release a video saying that the Star Wars Saga is now the trilogy of trilogies of Anakin's Rise and Fall, Redemption, and Legacy, and that helps me because now we tied it in to Anakin again because now it's about who benefits from what they learn from history. So yeah man, good MOC, and hurry up and watch those Rebels episodes.
Don't worry man, I've got you covered, I'll be your supplier. First hit's free. https://www.watchcartoononline.io/anime/star-wars-rebels I really like this website. No downloading required, tons of animated shows are there. Now you may have to deal with an ad playing before the video unless your security software is really good at its job, in which case you'll have to wait 30 seconds before each episode. I try not to use it if I can avoid so with the new shows since they need my ratings to stay around longer, but if I miss out on them and they aren't on demand, I hit up this place. Feel free to delete this comment, I'll be talking about the MOC and other things in another.
Great stuff mate! Love the feet and head design on this beast, and the little bushes do indeed add a nice touch! And yeah, gotta love Australia's region lock. It's a right pain on a good day, and stopped my viewing experience as well. Might have to start the canon-order Clone Wars binge though; I've only watched them in episode order so far.
