This is actually not just a car, but a set. This car can be made into 2 others, and then into 39 small models that explain car technology.
About this creation
Here is the set in all its glory.

A storybook (you can check it out on this link) explains in seven project the main components that make cars work: brakes, suspension, steering, differential, engine, gearbox, and clutch. The working of each is illustrated by models, here is a selection of one model for each project.

You can also make cars with functional components. The main car we already saw in the title picture. It features steering, suspension, inline4 engine, 2+R gearbox, and differential. Here is another look. This car uses all parts in the set.

As you can see, the priority was to show all the component at work, not looks.

The "B car" is simpler, it leaves out the gearbox and has a V4 engine. It runs better (and looks better IMHO).

As usual, the "C car" is simplest. Actually, it is a tricycle, run by V2. It features a sprung rear wheel, steering, adjustable seat and a working hand brake.

I made up a video about this set on YouTube.
