Howdy, or... Greetings, or whatever. This Is a story I was originally going to post on LEGO's General Gallery, but it closed before I could post any besides this part. It was a character contest, and two people entered: _LegoWild_ made Miles, and dimensons made Carson. They're characters WILL be in this story, but not in the prologue. Please give me feedback, and please say if you want me to continue posting this! Thanks! ;) (Just in case you were wondering, the picture is Guy.)
GUY PEARSON sat in a conference room, spinning around in an office chair looking like the most bored person on earth. Brick Sterling walked in with a bounce in his step.
“Finally! Why did you call me here?” Guy asked, looking suspiciously out the window into the hangar.
“I've been sitting here for like, a half hour.”
Brick settled in the chair opposite of Guy’s and looked at him with a smile, showing all his pearly white teeth.
“Do I have a surprise for you, old buddy!”
Guy raised an eyebrow and sighed.
“Your not on that whole space thing again, are you? I've told you twice and I'll tell you again, I’m a pilot, but I'll never be a captain.”
Brick frowned, clearly disappointed.
“Come on, Guy! I went to the extremes this time. I got you Area 52, one of the new uncharted territories in the Cimmerian Galaxy!”
Guy tapped his fingers on the table.
“Brick, we've been over this. I wouldn't do good as a captain. It’s just not what I want to do.”
Brick stiffened up, with a new determination on his face.
“No. I’m not letting you back out of this one. I’ve spent loads of credits on this. Look at the ship!” Brick waved excitedly toward the hangar on the other side of the window. Guy focused on the spaceship for the first time, taking it all in. Brick looked very pleased with himself.
“Isn’t she a beauty? You have no idea how much trouble I went through to get her.” Guy’s eyes slid across the side of the ship, reading the word ‘Static’. He turned back to face Brick, who was practically glowing with anticipation.
Brick looked straight into Guy’s eyes.
“So, whaddya say, Guy. I can get you a crew. You in?”
“I don't know, Brick. This is a big commitment.” he said, slowly rising up from his chair. Brick stood up abruptly.
“Well, what do you have to live for now? You were just fired, and your about to lose your apartment. I think this is the perfect opportunity for you!” Brick held Guy’s gaze. He had a point. Guy didn't know how to answer that. He opened his mouth to say something, but Brick held up his index finger. Guy furrowed his eyebrows, not understanding what Brick was doing.
“Please say yes, Guy. Think about all the things you could discover! New Species, technology, plants, and well… anything!” The two men sat there in silence for several minutes. Finally, Guy answered,
“alright. I'm in. But I want a good crew, ok?” Brick let out a breath of relief like he'd been holding it the whole time.
“Yeah yeah, they'll be good. You won't regret this!”
