Maserati Merak, Dino 308 GT4, Lamborghini Urraco (Top Gear Cheap Italian Mid-Engined Supercars Challenge)
Jeremy, Richard, and James were told to buy a mid-engined Italian supercar for less than £10000. This challenge is from Top Gear series 7 episode 4.
About this creation

They were told to meet in Bristol. Jeremy has bought a Maserati Merak "SS" while Richard has bought a Dino 308 GT4.

Richard then demonstrated his Dino's faulty pop-up headlights.

After a while, James arrived in a pick up truck carrying a Lamborghini Urraco.

Jeremy's Maserati Merak "SS".

The Merak is the love child of the Maserati Bora and Citroen SM.

The body is similar with the Bora, but the mechanicals are similar to the SM.

Richard's baby Ferrari, the Dino 308 GT4.

The Dino is designed as a cheap Ferrari.

And it was designed by Bertone.

And James' unreliable Lamborghini Urraco.

This Lambo is also designed as a cheap Lambo.

Later, it evolved to become the Lamborghini Silhouette, and Lamborghini Jalpa.

They were told to go to the Castle Combe Circuit.

But, James' Urraco broke down a lot of times before arriving there.

They were told to drive around the Castle Combe Circuit to determine who is the fastest.

After that, they were told to go to a garage and fix their cars. Jeremy has realized, that the "SS" badge on his Merak is a fake! Then, they were told to go to a nightclub in Slough.

Apparently, the track day has destroyed Clarkson's Merak. It's engines exploded and showered May' Urraco with debris. It crashed to the hedge.

So, Hammond and May abandoned him.

Because they weren't allowed to go to the petrol station, their cars were low on petrol. And with the electrical breakdown in Hammond's car, the Dino decided to surrender.

So, the car that had started it's day on the back of the pick up truck is the last car surviving.

But at night, there was a major traffic jam in the outskirts of Slough. And guess what? James is out!

The conclusion is: "Yes, you can buy a mid-engined Italian supercar for less than £10000, but for the love of God, don't!"

And on that bombshell, it's time to end! Thank you very much for viewing! Please rate and/or comment!
