This was a commissioned work and my first real fire truck (or at least based on a real engine).
It took me more time to create the stickers than to create the model...
Also used some of the great models around here for ideas and inspiration.
Next, Ladder 36.
Thank you for being so kind ;) That's the fact I always liked on Mocpages, the nice and friendly interaction. And yes, you're absolutely right. Six wide is more common. I choosed six wide because of my citys streets. A eight wide truck would be too wide.
You're welcome. Just a friendly tip/advice: Please don't forget about giving proper credit when you use someones designs. Especially when it's a comissioned work. Yeah I know it's not always easy because there are so many talented firetruck builders out there (it's a big community called the LFC-Lego Fire Community) who have great ideas and building solutions. But everyone will be thankful for that. Hope you understand what I mean ;)
Thanks. Yes, I got the idea of the side handle bars from your rigs.
That is cool that your models are there!
I never realized how much people liked fire trucks, there was plenty of reference materials to look at it, from pictures to videos.
Oh I see where you got inspiration from. It's a really nice lookin FDNY Engine. Very well done with all the details in digital form. Actually three of my FDNY and CFD rigs made it to their real quarters. Last one was CFD Battalion 1 this Christmas.
