Viper Pit
M-47 Bushmaster pit. Standard pit for the Formula Vic Viper circuit.
About this creation

All pit vipers deserve a pit.

Pit crew hard at work servicing Mel "Softy" Tayback's Bushmaster. Port side one capacitor needs replacing. Piece of cake!

Top view without Bushamster. New sponsorship for the good ol' 33. Team Malört!

Ladder with crew chief Dobson and "Giraffe" with crewman "Chocolate".

Close up of the proud Malört coat of arms.

Formula Vic Viper. The future of racing.

Built this to house the M-47 Bushmaster for display at BricksLA next week and Brickworld Chicago this summer. Added some lights and fun detail in Technic scale. Come on by and see it if you're in the area. Bring your own Malört! ;)

UPDATE 1-7-18 (Yeah, I know I'm a week late. :P):

Well, apparently they liked it over at BricksLA. Fun crowd there, got to hang out with WackLUG. Also, this brilliant trophy was built by Octopunk himself, Jeff Cross, who has the most amazing collection of toy nostalgia I have ever seen! His wife makes awesome chicken curry too, really the only reason to get to know him. XDDD Love them cats!

Off to Chicago with this in June! After some needed repairs, Mel had a rough landing in the last race. ;)

Quoting Dennis Price I love it and hope to see it in person this summer. No promises, but consider it a warning.
You better get your posterior out there! You are one of the only reasons to get out to Chicago. Heard you and Ted Andes got to talking at BU-Lou. We'll all have to share a cold one. With Mitzi of course. ;) Thank you Dennis!

Duuuude! I can and will say the same about yours! Your hangar is a work of art in itself. Thank you and cheers! :D

Quoting Nick Barrett Congratulations, that is one cool trophy! Technic figs for the win. See, they're definitely Lego ;-)
Thanks! Yeah, I'll be using them more, just too fun to NOT be Lego. ;)

Quoting Nick Barrett I'm loving the F1V logo; a lot to enjoy here. I bet this was a hit at the show.
Thank you Nick! If it's any indication of being a hit, it did happen to win first place in space/mecha category. :D Super cool trophy, I'll update the page with it. There were tons of people amazed at the use of those Technic figs, they'd walk up to the piece and just be grinning ear to ear. I think that's the bigger win. ;)

Thank you Mark! There's bitter, and then there's burnt Band-Aids and kerosene bitter. Malort is the latter. ;)

Quoting Mark B. Man, that main pic is just money. Perfect lighting and photo editing. The lettering and logo look fantastic. Without a close-up, it would be almost impossible to tell that they were built from Lego bricks.
Thank you Mark! This scale is brilliant to work in, it allows more construction of detail and plenty of leeway to make mistakes. I always love it when there is an illusion that it's not Lego. :D

Quoting Lando L. Jackson Really excellent work! Having such a detailed base can really go a long way towards complementing a vehicle. The lettering in particular is phenomenal.
Thank you Lando! The lettering is always a challenge. And you're absolutely right about the base, it's like a perfect frame. ;)

Quoting Werewolff . Just stunning Matt, nice work! The whole thing just fits with your SHIP so well, and the scale of it is downright impressive. Still loving the little number 2, and it's still one fine-looking rectangle.
Thank you Wolff! Gotta love the rectangle. :D And I'm particularly pleased with the 2 as well.

Quoting El Barto ! Still putting off working on that mega SHIP, eh? Looks awesome, can't wait to see it in person, and throw back some shots with your technic figs. Man, those guys can drink!
Thank you Bart! Yeah, the Hecate has been missing a lot of love lately. I'll try to concentrate on her now that this is done. May even borrow some liquid bravery from my Technic buddies there to help out. ;)
