About this creation
The Pont du Gard is an ancient Roman aqueduct that crosses the Gardon River in southern France.
It the highest of all elevated Roman aqueducts, and one of the best preserved.
It was added to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 1985 because of its historical importance.
As Daniel said: instantly recognizeable! That's a beautiful creation, Philippe! I was nearby in my youth maybe 35 years ago, but in our heads were to many other things at this time, I believe... ;) Seriously: there are too many nice places in France as to visit in 1,2,3 vaccations... :)
Excellent rendering, Phillipe! A deep gorge in southern Spain is spanned by both an intact Roman bridge and a modern highway bridge. The giant haul trucks from nearby mines are only allowed on the Roman bridge!
