A giant from a nearly forgotten age, a long, long time ago, when whistles echoed through the hills, and smoke drifted through the air...
About this creation
Hello again, everyone! It's been awhile since I've been on the pages - 2 months, actually, I'm sorry to say - so I came back, and I brought you something special: a Christmas train.

Specifically, a 2-6-2 Carol Class locomotive and its tender.
The 2-6-2 wheel configuration means, for those of you who don't know, that the locomotive has a set of two leading wheels, to guide it around curves; a set of six driving wheels, which power the whole thing; and two trailing wheels, to support the massive weight of the firebox.

A passenger car is currently in the works, but while you wait for it, enjoy the pictures!

"And with a long, mournful howl, the giant borne from steel vanished into the distance, the smoke she had left in the air tracing the iron road she had taken."

Quoting Murdoch 17 Awesome work with the steam engine's boiler and tender... never thought a steam locos would look good in white, but you proved me wrong! However, as a side note: "articulated" means the engine has a second set of driver wheels, not that the back and front wheels swivel. I would suggest looking at this page here for more details: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Articulated_locomotive
Oh! I stand corrected, thank you! I'll fix that. And thank you for the kind words!

Quoting Nick Barrett The use of exposed studs to give it texture is what I most like about this, beautiful model!
Thank you, Nick! Funnily enough the 1*3 exposed stud sections on the tender were happy accidents borne of missing pieces :)
