Luke's Landspeeder
Luke Skywalker's X-34 Landspeeder
About this creation
My take on Luke's Landspeeder from Star Wars A New Hope. Most of the attempts at this vehicle in Lego have been way to big compared to the size of the 'real thing'. If you have a re-watch of the movie, you realise how small it really is. My build here is still a bit too big, but you can't really go any smaller without sacrificing the passenger seat. I saw that big single molded car seat piece from the adventurers line and thought it would make great seating for the landspeeder as you are still able to fit two figures comfortably inside, whilst keeping it six studs wide. Finding a solution to the right sized engines was also a bit tricky, but I think the end result looks good. And yeah, my dog chewed the edge of one of those 3x3 rounded corner plates used on the front (this happened a long time ago - i'm a lot more careful now ;) ) But it doesn't really bother me much at all - I think it adds to the look of the thing, as it is pretty beat up in the movie. Anyway all up i'm pretty happy with it. I might try and Bricklink some sand red coloured parts for it in the near future. I think the sand red and dark red together make for the perfect, most accurate Luke's landspeeder colour scheme Lego has to offer. Please rate, comment, and check out my page for more Lego Star Wars builds :)

EDIT: The main photo and the first three pictures are of the slightly improved version. I've just changed the sides a bit and added a couple of pieces. It's funny how you find something you want to improve the minute after you've already taken pics and uploaded them :/

As you can see there's plenty of room for the whole gang :)

Quoting Misa Nikolic Size does matter.
I agree, the official Lego ones have all been way too big. Except for the 1999 one!

Quoting Cameron Wilson Looks very nice! The scale is accurate and the shaping is good. I Would like to see the minifigures in it as well!
Thank you my man! I might upload a picture of it with some figures inside later on today :)
