"Atlant" class cruiser, 1:350, real bricks
An updated version of my favorite Lego-ship - missile cruiser pr.1164. Now from real LEGO bricks!
About this creation
LEGO ship cruiser 1164 Slava Moskva Varyag
Cruiser type "Atlant" (pr.1164, NATO designation - "Slava") is the last representatives of the Soviet naval design, whose distinguishing features were massive pyramidal mast and inclined launchers for heavy supersonic missiles.

The ship had so bright and aggressive design that was nicknamed "the fangs of socialism"! :-)

Before build a vehicle from bricks, I completely revamped my previous LDD-version, taking into account the difficulties encountered in the construction of the "Condor". The main changes concerned hull, but this resulted in the need to redo everything else :-)

Build process. In the course of work hull design was changed several times. Shown here is one of the early versions.

Final version without docked to the underwater part. I tried to reproduce in the model all the basic elements of design and armament of the cruiser.

Compare with photo of a real cruiser "Slava". Unfortunately I'm not too good a photographer to correctly choose the angle of the ship. LDD-models were easier to fit to real image.

The Cruiser "Marshal Ustinov". Clearly visible shining in the sun inclined rocket launchers "Vulcan". It is the main weapon of the ship, which it is often called "carriers killer".

Quoting Red October Absolutely beautiful! I personally find modern Soviet/Russian warships to be very aesthetically pleasing.
Thank You, Red October! Yes, it is a feature of the Soviet/Russian shipbuilding school.

Quoting Rocket Goat Good ship, I don't care about the schematics and stuff, but what caught my eye was the pic and under it was NATO. NATO is a customer of my dads, they are quite tricky.
NATO is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization? Yes, they are very tricky ))

Quoting Sven ;o) You're welcome. Yeah I understand and know that from my own pics. It's a Mocpages thingy...
In my case, the MOCpages has nothing to do with it)) Blame the poor lighting, the old cheap camera and the crooked hands of the photographer)))

Quoting Kurt's MOCs Excellent work! Not to take anything away from your other incredible models, but this is my favourite one! You got all the proportions and details perfect and I love the inventiveness of your building. Truly inspiring!
Thank You, Kurt! Despite the fact that this is not the biggest of my models, she is one of the most time-consuming. The cruiser has a very high density of different weapons. To put it all together at a small scale and with acceptable structural strength was not easy.

Quoting Clayton Marchetti Iíve always loved they way this particular ship looked. All those missile tubes running down the length of the ship. You did a brilliant job! I love the pic that shows how you made the Hull. I really like the corner slope you used to shape and contour the bow. Outstanding work as always!
Thank You, Clayton! Yes, you absolutely got it right! It missile launchers largely determine the shape of this cruiser. And with the hull design I had for a lot of work, although it looks very simple.
