G1 Transformer: LDD Mini Optimus Prime
Introducing LDD Mini Optimus Prime! I recently finished redesigning my full size V3 Optimus so I figured my Mini OP could use a makeover too! For this version, I did a complete redesign. There is very little taken from my previous model (front windows and grill- that's about it :) I am almost finished with the real brick version. I've posted some WIP pictures at the end. The hand transformation was inspired by Joshua C. Please check out his Transformers as they are brilliant! Mini OP fully transforms from truck to pint sized Autobot leader without the addition or removal of any parts. Like my previous version, he can fit a Minifigure (although there is no official seat for him...he just kinda stands up). Anyway, please feel free to rate, comment and ask questions! Until next time...

Quoting Reese EH Great work! The gaps in truck mode made by the mixel joints that attach to his arms bother me, but this guy looks awesome, especially at this scale.
Well, my solution failed. Any ideas to hide the mixel joint? I'm all out. Thanks!

Thanks! Yeah, I think I might have figured out a solution to the mixel joint issue (hopefully :)

Quoting Caleb Lang Good moc, legs look very good and the arm technique is very clever. I would really suggest adjusting how the head attaches, though, as it is very awkward that his head is at the back of his torso behind his arms and legs. Humans are designed in such a way that from the side our arms, legs, and head line up as a vertical line and while Transformers can take liberties a bit, his head is so far back the side shot looked very weird. Other than that, great moc, keep it up!
Thanks for the feedback! I thought the same thing about the head and was trying to figure out a solution. I managed to move the head one stud forward without sacrificing the structural integrity. It looks a little more lined up now :). Thanks again!
