TIE Interceptor

Hi everyone. This is my latest creation. A TIE Interceptor. I've wanted to make a TIE Fighter for ages but never did because I only have the old TIE cockpit piece (which looks pretty bad). However after a quick look around I saw that a lot of people use the Jedi Interceptor cockpit piece. So, I started building the cockpit right away. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to smash my Helm's Deep Moc but unfortunately I had to half way through. I wasn't sure what type of TIE to make but I eventually settled on an Interceptor because they're way cooler than the Fighter in my opinion. Anyway, I'm really pleased with it and think that it is one of my best ships ever. It is also very swooshable! =)
About this creation

Here's a picture without the stand. The TIE is facing up because otherwise the wings just collapse. Luckily, that small stand is enough to support it.

Side view.

The wings.

The back.

Cockpit.

Some greebles.

Birds-eye view.

This hatch opens up to reveal the cockpit.

I would have liked to put more detail in here but there really isn't much space. It was hard just making it big enough for the pilot and his ridiculously oversized helmet!

Some WIP pics.

Thanks for looking.

Bye

Cameron =)

Quoting Sawyer Howd I love how despite your approach with the SNOT plating with the 4x4 dish, you still managed to fit a minifigure. Looks great!
Thanks! One of my main goals was to ensure the minifigure fit.

Quoting Winslow Wadsworth Whittier The Wise I like how it's made small, but somehow still fits a Mini-fig. 10 outta 10.
Thanks. I did intend it to be minifig scale but I guess it is a bit small.

Quoting swash buckler Great! Tie-crafts (and other small things like cars)are hard to do in scale because minifigures are so wide and their helmets are very big- but you managed to make pretty sizable and rather small spherical cockpit- good job!
Thanks! Tie pilots have large helmets anyway but when converted into Lego form they are massive! I had to put a hole in the roof for it to fit.

Quoting Reaper . I'm very impressed with this! You've captured a great level of detail and shaping in a package that's more appropriately scaled than most. Beautifully done

Quoting Ian Paige this is really beautifully done, at an impressively small scale for the accuracy in shape and complexity of detail. very nicely made!
