This is my sixth bounty hunt and episode 4 of my second season.
About this creation
Date: Thursday July 18th 2097.
Location: The wilderness of Flouron.
It was early that morning when Anna’ran and I left the city. We walked through the wilderness for what seemed like hours. The forest was dead silent the whole time. But it was far from peaceful. I was trying to prepare to take down Ti’yit Pi'row Anna’ran’s father. Anna'ran said to leave my weapons at the city since it would only be something for her father to use against me. It sounded like a terrible idea but I had no idea how powerful a war mage like Ti’yit could be, so I wasn't taking any chances.
Jack: “So how are we going to take him down without weapons?”
Anna'ran: “Just leave that to me. I will see to it our target will be brought to justice.”
Jack: “Then why did you even bring me-”
Anna'ran signaled with her hand to be quiet. As she pointed to a clearing up ahead.
Anna'ran: “We're here.”
We walked towards the clearing to find a three Mages, I assumed that the one in the middle was Ti’yit and the others were bodyguards.
Ti’yit: “Ah, my dear. I see you've brought the delivery for your uncle.”
Anna'ran: “Yes, You can inspect it for yourself to be sure.”
Ti’yit: “Yes, I will…”
Suddenly I was unable to move my body, I stood there panicking internally as I seemed to move toward Ti’yit without even stepping. As if I was being pushed forward. Ti’yit then examined me like an art critic looking at a statue.
Ti’yit: “Hmm… Very good, he will do nicely…”
Ti’yit signaled to his men as I stood there confused as to what was going on. I couldn't speak, move, anything! I started to feel weak as if I was going to pass out. It was like he was holding me in place. There had to be a way to break his focus. Maybe if I thought of a distraction. But what? Wait, I've got it. I immediately smiled as big as I could and stared behind his shoulder which caused him to look at what I “saw.” now was my chance.
Unfortunately I neglected to remember the two mages with him who surrounded me with a wall of flames. I tried to jump over it but found myself being held back again only this time it was Anna'ran.
Anna'ran: “Foolish pirate, You may have been able to outsmart my uncle but there is no escape… Enkaa Ess’y!”
Immediately after she spoke those words Jack blacked out and fell to the ground.
Anna'ran walked over to Ti’yit as the two mages pulled Jack from the ashes.
Ti’yit: “That went better than I expected. But I suppose your disguise of your cousin was convincing.”
Anna'ran: “It better be given how uncomfortable it is..”
“Anna'ran” takes off her mask and removes her long blonde wing revealing short black hair underneath.
“Anna'ran”: “None the less I thank you for your assisting in my father's plans Uncle Ti'yit.”
Ti’yit: “It was a pleasure Nar'an my dear, however I do not understand why Your father wanted this pirate alive.”
Nar'an Pi’row: “simply killing Brickton would be too simple.”
Ti’yit: “Ah, so you're tormenting him then?”
Nar'an: “let's just say that father has quite the ”game” planned for Brickton… Quite the game indeed…”
Meanwhile in the frozen wilderness of Dracios...
Cyclone: “How much farther?.”
The Bounty Hunter groaned in exhaustion. They had been walking through this frozen hellscape for days looking for this damn “System dominator” and his suit wouldn't protect him from the cold much longer.
Sal’ant: “Closer than you think I assure you…” the War Mage didn't seem to be affected by the subzero weather. He was too determined on his plan. A plan years in the making...
Eventually they came to a large statue carved into the cliffs it appeared to be of Collective origin.
Sal’ant gazed upon the carving and smiled.
Sal’ant: “We're here… After 30 years of searching through family records and legends I have found the ARK!”
Cyclone: “Well my job is done. I'll set up a signal and then you can call your collective friends to come help you get your “ark” off the cliff side.”
Sal’ant: “Done? This is only the beginning…”
Sal’ant begins to chant in collective tongue and the ground begins to shake…
Suddenly Sal’ant lifts his staff in a curved motion and the statue lifts up to reveal the entrance to a long corridor in the cliff.
Cyclone: “What the-?!”
Cyclone stops mid sentence to dodge a piece of the now shattered statue falling in his direction. Apparently that was not what they came for...
Sal’ant walks towards the entrance and turns to cyclone.
Sal’ant: “What are you waiting for?”
Cyclone: “My paycheck. I've done my part.”
Sal’ant: “You have no idea what riches lie inside The ARK’s halls. Far more than you could ever gain yourself.”
Cyclone let out a distorted sighed through his mask. He had been doing odd jobs and hunting bounties for the past 17 years. And this “ARK” thing sounded too good to be true. But he needed a break. A change of pace. Perhaps this old Mage was his ticket to riches.
Sal’ant’s Staff light up their path with a orange glow as they entered into the corridor.
Cyclone: “If you don't mind me asking, what is this “ARK” thing we're looking for?”
Sal’ant: “You don't understand. The ARK is what we are in. It's what lies inside the ARK that we're after…”
Cyclone: “Must be important to be this well hidden.”
Sal’ant: “Yes… It is quite the Game Changer…”
