BSG:TheNextChapter Series Finale!
About this creation
Six years have passed since Galactica has returned to Earth.

The construction of the Legend Class Frigates, following the discovery of Galactica in the asteroid belt was the initial phase of resurrecting Colonial ship building technology.

But with greater resources and greater understanding of both Colonial and Cylon engineering, phase two was the Chelone Class Battlestar.

Heavily armored and utilizing Cylon self repairing materials, the Chelone remains free of networked computers, paying homage to Admiral Adama's standing order.

Galactica Hangar

Marine: "Can't believe we got this duty! I mean, it's Levopolis!!"

Red: "Yeah, great... Whenever that guy's around, I usually end up getting shot!"

Marine: "What?"

Nempec: "It's my great honor to welcome you on this special day!"

Watchko: "Uh...Yep."

Nempec: "By order of The Admiralty, I hearby transfer command of the Battlestar Chelone to William J. Shraga, and Executive Officer, Stovella Creatori."

Nempec: Congratulations, Mr. Shraga. I mean, Commander Shraga."

Shraga: "Thank you, Sir."

Nempec: "Well deserved, son."

Topsy: "Come on, Colonel, how 'bout a hug?!?"

Watchko: "Uh...

Topsy: "That didn't hurt a bit, did it, Sir?!?"

Group: *Cheers and whistles*

Nempec: "A lot has happened since we headed out to the Colonies with our Cylon friends."

Nempec: "We followed in our ancestors' footsteps across the galaxy."

Nempec: "And many good people were lost along the way..."

Nempec: "But we persevered, and brought Galactica home."

Nempec: "And now a new era is beginning..."

Nempec: "It's time for us to start our own exploration of the galaxy."

Nempec: "But before we get into all of that..."

Nempec: "I'd like to recognize a few of our distinguished guests..."

Nempec: "Commander Leonard Barto, CAG throughout our mission to the Colonies, Lt. Chettin Kuo, our former deck chief, and their son, Kevin."

Kuo: "Good to be back, Commander, and without a wrench in my hand."

Mav: "I don't know, I think I'd like to take a Viper out for a spin, for old time's sake..."
Kevin: "Me too!"

Nempec: "Cougar and Chef Shifu, now with their piloting and catering service to the rich and famous."

Shifu: "I brought a case of my Shifu surprise for the Chelone crew, Commander, and plenty of hot sauce!"

Cougar: "Nice to see everybody, and not from inside the brig for a change!"

Nempec: "Mr. Levopolis, our distinguished technical consultant, and Chrissy Phipson, his 'liaison'. I'm not sure what the crew would have done for entertainment if it weren't for your, well, you know, what you provided."

Levopolis: "You're very welcome, Commander. It was my pleasure."
Chrissy: "Good to see you, too, Sir!"

Doc Korund: "Hmpfh, if it weren't for them giving everybody all those ideas, I wouldn't have had to dispense so many antibiotics..."

King: "That's the beauty of the Toasters..."

Nempec: "I'd also like to recognize those who could not be here with us today. To our fallen comrades, may they rest in peace..."

Nempec: "So Say We All!"

Bones: "So Say We All!"

Doc: "So Say We All!"

Bonsch: "So Say We All!"

Corthay: "So Say We All!"

Simon: "So Say We All!"

Shifu and Cougar: "So Say We All!"

Athenian: "So Say We All."

Mav and family: "So Say We All."

Nempec: "So Say We All..."

Everybody: "So Say We All!"

Kobol. Birthplace of Mankind.

In the distant past...

Child's voice: "Whaddya smell, guys?!?!"

Dogs continue to whine.

Boy: "I think they're onto something, dad!"

Strummer: "Don't get too far ahead, Mav!"

Strummer: "Maybe we've caught up do that elk!"

Hitomi: "What, are you going to hit it over the head with the satchel?"

Little Mav: "He speared that fish the other day, mom. Although it might have been dead already..."

Strummer: "Anyway, might be nice to have a some meat to go with these mushrooms."

Strummer: "Pretty sure they're edible..."

Hitomi: "Good thing They're looking out for us."

Hitomi: "And more than just keeping us from poisoning ourselves."

Little Mav: "I think I see something..."

Strummer: "Let the dogs do their job, son."

Strummer: "We've got plenty of time to catch up."

Quoting Luka Tomašić A great ending to a great show. It is sad that its over and we have to say goodbye to the builds but Im looking forward to any new ones from you. You inspired me to try and build some of my own Battlestars and similar ships(and i finally got the parts to build one). Thank you for everything and I hope to see many more great ships from you.
Glad to hear, Dude! Thanks for the great comment!

Quoting Topsy Creatori It's sad to see the series end, kinda like an end to a special era. I'll miss the builds, the crew, and the fun! You always seemed to hit on just the right amount of dialog/commentary to keep the stories entertaining but not too much as to draw attention away from the photography and your builds. And, you know I loved the idea of the outdoor shots at the end. I've often wondered if the episodes and their photos would lend themselves to some kind of video presentation? Anyhoo, thanks for all the enjoyment through the years!
I haven't taken any outdoor shots in a while, and figured this would be the time. Thanks for the great comments throughout the series, Topsy, and congrats on being the XO ; )

Quoting David Roberts Sad but glad to see this series come to an end and survive the trials and tribulations of the MOCpages website. A truly herculean effort on your part, all the more impressive for the way that you've sustain the quality of builds and storyline throughout the years.
Thanks, David! There certainly were times when it was pretty frustrating here on MP, but we have survived!

LOL,yeh man, people have no idea. Yes we are all doomed, and robots will be doing a lot of the dirty work, they'll blame AI of course... Your ending is very happy indeed. Even GAIA which is a totalitarian war state has a more humanistic outlook than where we're all heading, lol...

Quoting Parrington Levens The melancholy when story ends and the sets are dismantled... Perhaps I will never finish my own comic for the desire to escape nostalgia in at least one part of my mind, lol... As for the show's ending, not sure about what you thought of it, but in my older age I really find it very soulful and dripping with a tragedy befitting the essence of the show. The BSG was a life raft from a sunken civilization rather than a colony ship. I believe the crew had expended what ever remained of their will just to make it to earth. The will to rebuild and keep going what had failed so catastrophically was simply not there.
From what I read, it seemed a lot of people were unsatisfied with the show's ending, but I thought it worked for all the reasons you said. Like your boat analogy, when the raft finally lands on the shore, most people just lay down in the sand for a while, exhausted. Not sure what else was expected. And the fast forward to the future/our present was clever, too, telling us we're right where they were. Had a college kid in the office today who's studying AI. He's fully aware of the dangers, and said he'd rather be a part of it, rather than be on the outside looking in. I asked, so you'll know when to run, he said yeah... We're doomed. Although I'd say my ending is a little more hopeful.

Quoting Parrington Levens Nice zoom out at the end there! And YES Kobol being repopulated, as too would New Caprica be etc. Thus it can all happen again :) Great effort to actually finish this epic LegoComic off. Love the big group shop in the darkening hangar bay.I am yet to do the big hangar scene myself. I stockpiled SO many ResQ figs for it and never did it, lol... Well dude, all those sweet builds and sets and now where do you go from here? Will be great to see what you do next...
Thanks for the great comment, my friend! Most of the sets have been sorted, all except the hangar and CIC. Took me a long time to finish this story, with Targaryen sculptures and such. Not sure if I'll do another comic anytime soon, with the big project for next year's BW. I've been hoping some others here on the Pages would get going (You, Clayton, Matt...hint hint) But anyway, tthanks again!

You considering a new chapter with these guys or can we expect a completely different series altogether? Either way, I'll remain a loyal reader alongside everyone here. So say WE all. Awesome job, my friend, and congratulations!
Surely I'll be needing a break from story telling, since I've been rather tardy in keeping up my earlier pace. Thanks, Matt, much appreciated!
