Animax
Sorry for the delay on this one- I only literally got done with the MOC yesterday- anyway, decided to have a little fun and do a little subversion of Raxonax, my self MOC... hope you enjoy!
About this creation
Some time after Toa Raxonax became a significant figure on Racta Magna, he became host to a series of cryptic dreams. A recurring motif central to these dreams was Animax, an ethereal maiden who wore his very Kanohi. She would whisper to him every night, though he could never understand her words. He puzzled over the dreams for quite some time, though things were quickly forgotten when he met Toa Galia, whom he would proceed to fall in love with.

Animax was nowhere to be seen while both Raxonax and Galia were together, though she would return to him once they separated, growing only stronger and taking greater hold over the restless Toa. To Raxonax, this surreal maiden epitomised his bond with Galia, and he chose to interpret her words as a call for him to reclaim his love. He spent ages ruminating how best to speak to Galia, indecisive on whether or not to approach her; at times he felt it best not to, believing that she would never accept him, while other times he asserted that he needed to approach her, that she secretly loved him but was too timid to say so.

Animax eventually became latent for a time, allowing the dreams to fade away, though her power would accentuate once Shadonax re-entered the scene, shortly after Raxonax joined the Contenders- was this in response to his closer relation to Galia, or was she responding to the presence of Shadonax, the Super-Ego? The surreal maiden would spike in activity once again when Idonax, the unconscious, returned to Racta Magna, proving the notion that she was responding to these fragments of Raxonax's mind.

It was Idonax that finally goaded Raxonax into confessing his love to Galia, though she in turn expressed that she no longer had feelings for him. Whether this was true or not, it forced Raxonax to acknowledge Galia's needs and respect her independence from him. It was at this turning point that Animax was content, and so the dreams ceased.

Raxonax would eventually learn that Animax, like Idonax and Shadonax, was another fragment of his split consciousness. She was initially a part of Idonax, the unconscious, that split off during the separation and had remained within Raxonax. However, she retreated into dormancy once his romantic tension had been resolved, and has not since been active.

So here we go! So yeah, this character is not canon to Contenders, given that she was never brought up in the story. Had I come up with the idea earlier though, you bet your bottom I'd have included it!

The back- what I'm trying to say is, the story itself is not too important on this one- it was really just an excuse to gender-switch Raxonax; something that's really difficult to do apparently, given how long it took me to complete this one!

Height comparison with Tahu Uniter.

Animax and Idonax, two pieces cut from the same cloth!

Rather dramatic shot of Shadonax there... ooooooo...

Animax and Galia.

Yeah, sadly I only have one of those Hydraxon Masks- that would have made things rather tricky if I DID include Animax for the Contenders, wouldn't it?

In b4 "Raxonax is a girl now?! CONTENDERS IS RUINED!!"

Anywhoo, that's all folks! See you soon!

Quoting The Artist Formerly known as RaptorTalon ~ Rather interesting to be sure. The MOC Is good, though I'm not sure if I'm sold on the concept...cool stuff regardless!
Thanks man! Glad you like the MOC! I mean, yeah, there tends to be a mixed response to the whole gender-bender thing, but I quite liked the idea myself and wanted to try it with Rax.

Quoting Dark Aeon Also, could you say that Raxonax has been...defaced? *obnoxious laughter ensues* ok I'll see myself out now.
I think it'll take an (A)eon for me to forgive you for that joke... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *cough*

Quoting Toa Gaim Interesting design and backstory about her. Toa Hiroshi:"Why do I have the feeling that she had talking to my mother about my love life over a cup of tea?"
Thanks Gaim! Raxonax: "I dunno why you'd get THAT feeling; she's been tormenting my dreams for years! Also, what's a "mother"? Or "tea" for that matter? Or a "cup"?"

Quoting Dark Aeon I'm unnecessarily irked by the fact that the pieces with the peg hole and axle don't have a 1/2 bearing thing on the exposed axle before it goes into the u-shaped thing with the two peg holes and axle. I'm even more irked that I don't know how to better describe parts. Um, the parts next to the middle of the inika shin armor? Yeah, that's better.
Hahaha don't worry man, I hear ya. Yeah, now you've pointed it out it really bugs me too. The annoying thing was that I did intend to put bushings there, but I apparently forgot about it :/

Quoting Legobob 29 Looks great! The details are good. Not too sure how I feel about the hair, but that's difficult to pull off. That's my only critique though, the torso is especially good! Well done.
Thanks Legobob! Yeah, wasn't my first choice for hair design but the original wasn't working out for me, so I tried to make it like a ponytail.

Quoting I'm Confused Do you plan on any stories after Contenders is done? I think it would be interesting to see a story about the Hero Factory team that Scaler is part of. Cause HF is bawss :P
Well, at the moment I'm not too sure what I'll do next, if in fact I do chose to do another Fumetti. I do have a few ideas, some set in the Hero Factory universe and some not, but nothing concrete. I won't be doing anything in the near future- I'll still make MOCs and such, but after Contenders is done I want to shift my focus to some other projects that aren't Lego related. However, perhaps in a few years time I may come back with a new story, though that'll depend on whether a) I'm not too busy with adult life and having a job and b) whether there's still an audience for it. But there's no need to fear, I'll still be around, Making MOCs and perhaps the one-off story or something- and maybe in a few years time another epic to rival Contenders!

Quoting NewDrewBuilder1992 /// It looks kind of strange to see a female character with the Hydraxon mask, but whatever. At least the MOC looks good for the most part, except that one part I mentioned (but that's a little nitpick of mine). Not bad though.
Thanks Drew! Yes, I can see why that might seem strange- that mask does look somewhat masculine, with the ridged Thanos chin looking like a beard almost, but obviously given what this character is, I couldn't have used any other mask. I've seen it used on female MOCs before, and it's worked a lot better than it does here. Anyway, thanks man!

Quoting Windfall the Wanderer Very nice, and a cool concept as well. The way the pieces flow on the chest is very nice. The forearms and shins seem a bit chunky, but it isn't a big deal. Overall, good stuff!
Thanks man, glad you like the concept! That torso was a bit of a nightmare to do, but it came out well in the end. Fair dos, the forearms are only really bulky because of the weapons, which I don't mind too much. Yes, perhaps the shins are a little too bulky, though I didn't want to make them too thin, as the feet are also quite wide and I wanted to smooth the transition there. Thanks again man!

Quoting I'm Confused Very nice! It's cool to see gender-swaps like this! (Obviously fictional characters, with non-canon gender benders :P)
Thanks Duckie! It's not exactly a new concept, but it's been something I've wanted to do for a while.
