Squad 9
E-ONE Typhoon cab comfortably seats up to 6 firefighters!
About this creation

Squad 9 has the ability to respond as either an engine company or an additional resource for greater alarm fires.

Like our "1" series engine companies, Squad 9 has a medical compartment directly behind the cab. The rest of the driver's side stores firefighting gear and some limited Hazmat equipment.

The Hale Qmax pump is a two-stage pump that is rated to 2000 gpm.

Rear shows the storage for the 4" LDH, and 2.5" attack hose. Beside the hose storage is the ground ladder and hard sleeve hose compartment. Underneath the hose compartment is the storage for various nozzle tips and the TFT Blitzfire.

More on the rear of the apparatus

The officer's side of the apparatus stores rescue gear. The Holmatro extraction equipment is stored in the first large compartment.

Cab details also include a NightScan PowerLite, a Federal Q2B siren, dual Whelen Epsilon sirens, and Grover air horns!

Squad 9 was established to help alleviate the number of calls that Squad 5 was responding to. Due to the enhanced role of this company, it was decided that the new engine will be called Squad 9 instead of Engine 9. The rig will be carrying a full set of Holmatro extraction equipment, Hazmat equipment, and medical equipment in addition to the standard engine company tools and hoses. The apparatus committee first looked at purchasing a used rig due to the cost-effectiveness of such a purchase. In so doing, the committee was able to find this rig that matched what the department required!

Quoting Jon D The grill is pretty unique on this rig, not sure how I feel about the headlights/emergency lights, they seem to small for the cab. Also, as a technical note, E-one only offers Cummins engine options for the typhoon. Still a pretty good rig though.
Thanks Jon! That's good information to know about the engine options. I'll update that here! As far the grill/headlight combination, I used Ed's design for it. Space is definitely an issue given the size of the bricks/plates.

Thank you Sven! Yes, it does look a lot better than the rendering! Sadly, I can't say the same about my wallet lol
