About this creation

Arthur stood in front of Switzerland's leaders for a hearing. He had to explain and justify the IIA's actions of infiltrating the neutral country and killing the Swiss Hunter.
"Magnifique," he said speaking French. "Gentlemen, lady, I'm glad we could come to an understanding. Merci."
"Au revoir, Director," said one of the leaders.
"Au revoir."
The hearing had apparently gone well and the IIA was "off the hook".

Arthur left the room and sat down in a nearby chair. He sighed and rubbed his face.

A robot then approached him.
"Director Savile. You have a message," it said as it took out a small communicator device.
"From?" Arthur asked curious.
"It is of importance," the robot replied without answering his question.
Arthur hesitated but decided to take the message.

William hung from the ceiling of some room. A man with a thick mustache wearing a linen suit walked towards him.
"So. They sent a spy. IIA I presume?" he spoke with a heavy foreign accent.
William was silent.
"Who else is with you?"
Again no response.
"I'll ask you one more time. Who else is with you?"
"You sure you want those to be your last words?" Will finally said.

William swung forward and grabbed the man's gun, shooting him and then shooting the chain that tied him to the ceiling.

He fell to the ground and looked at his captor. Dead. But he wasn't the only one standing between him and freedom.

William ran through whatever facility he had been thrown in and shot at everyone inside.

The men had been alerted to his escape and rushed in to take him down. They were unsuccessful.

At the end of the hallway was another enemy. He laughed maniacally as he twirled his knife around cutting through the air. After cutting down all the others in the building, Will's gun was now out of bullets. He clicked the trigger twice to confirm the unfortunate fact.

The man with the knife saw this and charged at Will, who dropped his gun and grabbed his attacker. They both fought over the knife. In the end Will got it.

He stabbed the attacker through the stomach and pulled the bloodied blade out. Will stood in the middle of the room, panting and covered in blood.

Shortly after making his escape from where he was being held, Will ran into the city. He crossed a street without looking causing a car to brake suddenly. The driver honked his horn and yelled at him. Will looked at the driver, raised his hand in apology, and kept running.

He slowed down when he reached a tall white building. It was a hotel.

Will's fellow IIA agent, Dino, worked on a computer inside a room of the hotel.

He turned around when his friend entered.
"I was getting worried," he said. "I thought you were picking up supplies."
"I made a slight detour. May have possibly gotten captured..."
"Yeah but don't worry. Their operation's finished. Mostly because they're dead."
"They're dead? You killed all of them? Jesus... You'd better ask Arthur for a promotion," Dino said chuckling. "Speaking of Arthur, he called. He wants us back in Raleigh as soon as possible."
"Bu- Can I lie down first? I'm completely exhausted!"
"You've got an hour. I'll tell him we're done in Tunisia and that we're on our way."

Back in the United States, Dino and William sat at a small cafe waiting for the IIA Director.

"So did he say why he wanted to meet us?" Will asked.
"He didn't say much, just that he has some big news."

Before they could talk further, Arthur entered the cafe. He briefly looked around for his agents before spotting them in the booth. Dino slid over in the seat making room for him.
"Arthur, I almost didn't recognize you without your uniform," Will said jokingly.
"Oh, right! Well, it's good to see you two. How was Tunisia?" he asked.
"Great. Could've done without the heat and getting shot at by diamond smugglers but what can you do?" said Will.
"Well I'm glad to hear you had fun."
"So what was this big news you had for us?" Dino asked.
"Right, It's mostly for William, really," Arthur replied. Then he looked at Will.
"How would you like to be famous?"
"I think I already am kind of famous."
"True... But as much as you were during the Collective War? You were on posters, tv. It can be like that again."
"Is that wise? Considering I'm, you know, a covert spy?"

"Well here's the thing. The people are losing faith in the Imperium... They need a symbol. Someone they can believe in, someone they know they can trust. The council doesn't come across as very forthcoming. They don't inspire people the way you can."
"That's... Very flattering, Arthur."
"Everybody loves a hero, William. You've got the looks, the charm. Be the face of the Imperium. The face of hope."
"I always did like the attention..."
"Good. Then we're going with this?"
"I don't see why not. What do you want me to do?"
"Sit down with Heather Paige."
"The talk show host?"
"Yes, she asked if she could have you on her show. It's just what we need to get you out there."
"I'm a little jealous that you get to be a celebrity, Willie," Dino said smiling.
"Well, Dino, good things come to people who've got the looks and the charm," Will replied smirking.
"Alright, alright. Her show is filmed in Hollywood so, William. Looks like you're going back home."

"Good evening everyone!" Heather addressed her live audience. The talk show host was an older woman who had a little too much plastic surgery and whose face was covered in a little too much makeup. "I hope you're all doing well. Tonight we've got a very special guest. He's a war veteran and author of the bestseller, Suicide of the Angels, everybody give it up for William Nantucket!"

The audience clapped as Will walked across the stage. He confidently waved at them and walked over to Heather to give her a hug. Then they both sat down.

When the audience's cheers finally died down, the interview began.
"You look well," Heather said to him.
"Thank you. And you look lovely as always."
"Ohhh well thank you. Now... This isn't the first time you've been here is it?" Heather asked even though she knew the answer.
"No. It's, uh, been a couple years."
"Yes, the last time you were here with your book. But we're not gonna talk about Will's book tonight. We're gonna talk about Will."

"So Will. You're quite the hero now, aren't you? You've taken down your fair share of bad guys, the Swiss Hunter, most recently, one of Etrion's notorious crime lords, and the terrorist Red Cape, otherwise known as Dane Duscott. How do you do it?"

"Well Heather, to be honest I'm just a simple man, like anyone else. But when I'm given the opportunity to do good, I take it. I'm an Imperial. And I won't allow these monsters to hurt us."

"Dane Duscott certainly hurt us when he bombed that power core factory. People are wondering, what happened to him?"
"Well I can't go into all the details but rest assured, Dane got what he deserved."
"So you've gone from a war general to a writer and now you're an agent in the intelligence community. What is it like filling all these different roles?"
"It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to play any of those roles. For example in the war, I knew that I had to do whatever it took. You've got two choices, you either win or you die. And I know that only one of those choices is acceptable. I just want to remind people that they can't ever give up. Things might look bad but we will come out of it victorious. If everyone works together, if everyone believes... Believes in the Imperium... Then we will win."
"That was truly something, and you are absolutely right," Heather spoke. "Right now is the time when we all need to stick together. Now I've got one last question for you. The fans want to know... Will there be another book?"
Will laughed.
"I like writing, I do, and I would love to do another one but the truth is I just don't have the time for it anymore. So I don't know. Maybe. Someday."
"Well that is a little disappointing but understandable seeing as you're saving the universe every other Tuesday. Ladies and gentleman, William Nantucket! Hero of the Imperium!"

They both stood up as the audience cheered.

After the show, Will walked backstage to find Arthur waiting for him.
"That was perfect, William. We're on the right path, here. Now I want to show you something."
Arthur handed Will a rolled up sheet of paper.

Will unrolled the poster of himself.
"Hope," he said reading the one word on it.
"It's what people need. So give it to them."

Originally there was nothing with Switzerland or Tunisia and it just started with this.

Will was sound asleep in the guest room of Dino's apartment, well into the morning.

In another room, Dino was engaged in a call on his communicator.
"Alright," he said. "We'll be there."

He walked into Will's room to find him still asleep.

Dino smacked his friend on the head to wake him up. The smack startled Will who fell off the bed and onto the floor.
"Get dressed. Arthur wants to meet us."
"What about breakfast?"
"We'll have it there."

Also the background in the poster is from fineusscottneff's Coruscant Moc on flickr. I'm pretty sure it's on Mocpages as well but I don't know if his name is the same on here.

Quoting --R.K. Blast-- Good stuff! I was a bit confused at first, because I didn't realise it was public knowledge that Dane was actually the Red Cape, seems how Will had been framed initially. But the GI certainly do need a poster boy and William seems a great fit! Good rank-up. Your points have been added! --Blast--
Yeah maybe showing some news or something would've helped but basically nothing was made public until they caught Dane. Then they would have revealed that it was him but they're keeping what happened to him a secret. Thinking about it maybe it could've worked to just hide the red cape's identity so it wouldn't hurt the IIA's reputation... Oh well lol
