At 1:28 PM, Jakelands Bravest were dispatched to 620 Boston Blvd, the "Boardwalk Subs", for a report of a working kitchen fire. When Engine 15 and Squad 10 arrived on scene, they discovered heavy smoke venting from the delis first and second floor windows. Flames were also visible on both floors. Deputy Chief Madsen, upon arrival, requested a 2nd Alarm to the
scene. Firefighters then discovered smoke venting from 622 Boston Blvd, "Nana's Bakery". While Engine 15 stretched a hose into the deli to combat the blaze, Engine 2's crew stretched a second line off Engine 15 into the bakery. In the deli, conditions continued to
deteriorate rapidly. Firefighters from Engine 4 then stretched a line off of their engine to assist Engine 15. Crews inside the bakery reported the same. A 3rd Alarm was then requested to the scene.Flames had made their way up the walls into the attic space of the bakery. Firefighters had a difficult time attacking the seat of the fire. As the flames continued to rage, firefighters were ordered out of the buildings and fight the flames defensively. Due to the excessive heat, a 4th Alarm was requested to the scene to swap out manpower. No one was hurt or killed at this job. The fire was held to the deli and bakery. 624 Boston Blvd and 112 Russell Casse Ave suffered minor heat and smoke damage. All Jakeland FD units operated at the scene. Mutual aid from Lego Twp, North Lereado County, Riverwoods, Westbrick, Rochelle Heights, Lego Regional Fire Authority, Portage County, Buena Vista, Jackson and St Lego stood by in empty firehouses across the city. There were 2 firefighters injured at this blaze, one for heat exhaustion and a second for smoke inhalation. No one else was hurt or killed at this job.
Oh man you did an awesome job on this one. Really like the effects you added to your very nice pictures. Looks almost like a real scene. My favorite is the main pic and I had much fun reading the story. Well done my friend.
