MELO Round 3 : Classical Bricks vs. Roanoke Handybuck
Orthanc Bracket
About this creation
This is my entry for Round 3 of the 2017 Middle Earth Lego Olympics!
My opponent's awesome entry!

Our category was Ithilien, and I chose to build a forced perspective all-Lego scene depicting the hobbits' journey through the forest to Mordor.

Nice one Classic! This comes at a really appropriate time given the fact that our family is going to be doing a LotR marathon today ;) Excellent landscaping and Lego sky backdrop, together they create quite a stunning effect. The transition from blue sky to blackness definitely sets the mood correctly and starts building some level of intensity. Well done and God bless! ~Promar~

Awesome MOC! Great job on the tree and landscape, but my favorite part is the sky in he background! You did a very good job mixing different colors! :D

I like this, an imaginative way to do an area that doesn't have a lot of outstanding structures to build.

This looks really good! I think it's an excellent idea to build even the sky out of lego bricks, I love the different sizes and colors of the clouds! Your opponent also has some very strong elements in his build, but some elements look a bit simple for a R3 MELO entry or could've been better, so in the end you get my vote because your build has the overall better and more balanced look.

Oh, this is a tough call. I am writing my review, and I hope that at the end I'll have a decision. The backdrop is great. The mountains and the shadowed sky are really nice. Every tree is good however I think a little more consistency in tree style would have worked better. The snake and tri-leaf plant sprue are great part usage for vines. In the end your build seems more balanced in quality, you get my vote.

This is stunning! The backdrop is great! I like the various shades of blue. The trees are nicely done as well! It was an honor competing against you in round 2! Good luck! :D

The amazingly detailed background is beautiful, and the forest is so lush that I wish I could go there. I like how you've used the bright colors instead of dark earth colors. It reminds the viewer that it is supposed to be a "fairy story."

That backdrop is one of the best I've seen. Well done!

A truly awesome build! The forced perspective is quite effective, probably because that backdrop is especially well done!
