My opponent's really neat entry.

Category: The Eagles' Eyries.

Well, I almost didn't have time to build for this round. After having big aspirations of building full-sized eagle platforms and brick-built eagles, life caught up to me and sucked away all my time. In the end, I decided to build a microscale/forced perspective scene of the eagles approaching the Misty Mountains, which are, by virtue of the Great Eagles living in its rocky crags, the Eagles' Eyries. I hope you enjoy.

Without the eagles.

The forest.

The eagle(s).

If you are interested in seeing a few behind-the-scenes pics of how I set this up, please check out my Wip Journal.

Thank you very much for viewing, and thanks to the judges for their consideration!

Nice representation of an eagle and rider! Good luck.

Nice little eagles and Gandalf sat on the back is hilarious. I must try a forced perspective sometime and this one is really good.

A really amazing build. The forced perspective worked brilliantly, and I love the cartoony, yet really pleasing to view background style!

Turned out really good mate :) A lovely built scenery with lots of detail in such a small scale.

Fantastic build, Mark! The FP is excellent and you did a great job with the brick-built eagles. If you post it over on Flickr, it would fit perfectly as an entry into the Immersive Scene category of The Summer Joust: https://www.flickr.com/groups/3612485@N25/discuss/72157683256809335/72157682945186971

Really beautiful shot! The mountains in the background look fantastic. I love those brick built eagles. Brilliant!

Wow Mark, this is an amazing scene! The difference in and brightness of the colors of the Forrest and the background makes it "pop," and reminds me very much of Tolkien's paintings. I especially like the very tiny eagle, and the micro gandalf is a nice touch.
