Xenosphere - 2017 MOCer Games
Team lummerlander presents category 3: Wait a Second, s.th. wrong here - Build a MOC at least 8x8 studs big that has as few 90-degree angles as possible. First pic is sundown over our hometown: watch, an UFO- sight! ;)
About this creation
Second pic shows cameo in the ocean, seems to be a jellyfish...

This is a tetrakaidekaeder, it has 14 sides, built with one axle and 4 ringplates, what makes 4 x 90° angles.

This is to see in pic 4 as I hope so, at all it's happyly round as an alienship should be in some cases... ;)

Thanks very much, Daniel! The "L"- word is the best appreciation to get here... ;)

Quoting Jeremy McCreary Mighty fine xenosphere you got there, mister! One o' them things landed in my corral back in '98. Those alien fellas sure left in a hurry when I looked 'em straight in the eye and told 'em I probe back. The clips mark the vertices of an Archimedean solid known as a "trunctated octahedron" with 24 vertices, 36 edges, and 14 faces (8 regular hexagons and 6 square). The truncated octahedron and the cube are the only uniform polyhedrons capable of packing 3D space without gaps.
Hahaha, I'll also try THIS if they'll come back some day... ;) Thanks so much for your wonderful expertise here, my friend! :)

Quoting Jonathan Demers 5 points from me...no 90 degree angles on that baby!
Agree, so it's nearly a globe... ;) Thanks much, Jonathan! :)

Thank you all! I'm sorry not to answer at each one as I used to do, but I'd to much work to do. Some remarks: This IS 8x8, and with antennas it would have had to much 90° angles... ;)

Great geometry lesson. I think that you could have used the tetra-whatever-it-is in a slightly larger build and it would have looked better. Perhaps, you could have put grey or black tentacles on it and it would form a nice microscale mech that would have few 90 degree angles. All that to say, it gets a 4 from me.

Excellent creation! Really like this Xenosphere or whatever this thing is! I might be wrong, but I`m sure Jeremy could make it spin like a UFO!

Fantastic! Love that you have such a good grasp of these parts to get the geometry right!

I had no idea what to do with that category, so at least someone had the guts to enter something in it. Maybe it will get me thinking now. I don't know if this counts because of the 8x8 minimum, but you've already gotten two fives, so what do I know.

Hmm, is it big enough? It looks a bit smaller than 8x8. Beautiful build though. Score: 5
