For the Deathmatch; Category 20: Mystery Bag. I chose Jon's bag of a 1x2 45 degree slope, a lightsabery thingy that's not a lightsaber, a shortsword, a 4L bar, and a double beveled 12 toothed gear.
About this creation
My first MOC on the pages after some time. I have not gone inactive, I just haven't been posting my builds anywhere because they're all other Frogracers and I've been saving them all for an ensemble shoot.
So yes, a Frogracer. I was a little disappointed in the fact that I could not use one era of grays or the other, but this mixes two different colors of the eras; light bluish gray, and old dark gray, so that's a little more reassuring. This is also the first time I have made a base like this to my recollection. It's better than I thought for it being a first. I usually just stick with the vehicles and then have a towel and a bedsheet as the background, but this worked out quite nicely. And speaking of backgrounds, I haven't broken out the white background in forever.... feels weird.
I've been wanting to make a more vertically aligned pod shape for awhile now. It somewhat worked out. The swords act as vents/flaps to help in direction... kind of. It's all made-up fake science anyway, why am I trying to take this so seriously?
Nothing too special except for the fact that I used a Nexo Knights robot body for the base that everything else connects into and I finally got to use that 1x1 tile from Nexo Knights as well. It's so pretty.
[THIS IS WHERE A VIDEO WOULD GO WHERE I REVIEW THE MOC A LOT MORE INTESIVELY BUT WE DON'T HAVE TIME FOR SUCH THINGS RIGHT NOW]
And just to make the judges' lives easier...
Here's a 1x2 45 degree slope...
And all the other junk from Jon's bag. The most hidden are the lightsabery thingy and the gear, but they are very much visible in other photos, so don't get on my case, just don't think about it and enjoy the use of the swords like you know you want to.
It's also not too terrible a shot to show you guys how I built the pods. Feel free to steal my designs if you can figure out the few parts you can't see as clearly.
Hey, that's a MOC from me! Probably could've done better, but I gotta build more for the other categories now.
Great entry and I especially like how you made pics showing each specific part from the bag. I'm giving you a 4. The build is certainly creative, however I feel you could have covered your studs a bit better. Nice technique, though as well as a good base.
