My opponent's neat microscale entry

The Old Forest...
I was a bit unnerved by this category when the Round 2 theme was posted. I've never been great at building structures and I've never tried my hand at trees. But I do like Brick-built figs... So, not really wanting to do a Tom Bombadil (Oliver Becker had done an amazing one in Round 1 ) I decided that I'd go for Old Man Willow, the carnivorous (or perhaps just grouchy) tree. There are a few poems about Tom Bombadil, so they served as the main inspiration for what I built. In one such poem, Old Badger Brock is mentioned as another somewhat unpleasant denizen of the Forest, so I built him too.

The soulless grin

Old Badger Brock

Best of luck to my opponent! Thanks to all the judges for hosting and taking their time to vote.

Quoting Michael Kringe Nice job! I really love Old Man Willow's face elements, using Chewie for the nose is funny, but somehow it fits perfectly!
Why thank you!

Quoting James Y. It's a very interesting tree and the face included is quite good. My only problem is that it doesn't look like a willow tree to me. It might have been better if you'd added some vines (green whips would have done the same trick) since the long tendril leaves are what give willows their distinctive shape and look.
Thanks! I agree, but I have quite a limitation of parts. Otherwise I'd have gone all out :)
